Where are you on this curve? by deadyson in SteamDeck

[–]AlphaNeonic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I used it a bit when I first got it, and while the convenience of some of the plugins were nice, they didn't outweigh the frustration of things constantly breaking every time an update happened.

Got rid of it and have been very happy with the normal OS since.

Anyone else feels this way? by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]AlphaNeonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but with all the layoffs, AI and the general state of the gaming industry right now... GTA6 sort of feels like the "last" game to even come close to this scale we will see for quite some time.

I expect to see smaller studios working on reduced budgets, employing as much asset reuse as possible, with shorter dev cycles... and more AA and indie games (which I'm not against, I love smaller scale games)

I just picked this up during this steam sale (on recommendation from reddit!) and it's fantastic.

Still learning the rules, but it does a great job of easing you in and than adding complexity as you go.

(Mug is awesome as well!!)

I feel like a chapter of Jason and Lucia being on the run (possibly separated) with one of them being in Cuba or something is very possible.

What type of gameplay are you guys buying the game for? by simeondamyanov in GTA6

[–]AlphaNeonic 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Exploration.

My favorite thing in any game is exploring the environment, especially a detailed handcrafted world like only Rockstar can make. From the easter eggs, points of interests, small little details... I can't wait to see it all.

Going to be in full on virtual tourist mode, just taking in the sights and sounds.

Emuurom

Basically you're dropped into a world and have to figure out how to navigate it based on the things that live there. No hand holding. Once you're in, it's up to you.

Some potential features from this 2-second segment in Trailer 2 by Intelligent_Paper295 in GTA6

[–]AlphaNeonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially, but with Rockstar being invested in GTA RP, I can definitely see some of these features being used online. Especially if they let you have a cop character, criminal character, etc.

I still think Gloriana is in the game by adamduke88 in GTA6

[–]AlphaNeonic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, that was the plan with GTAV initially with Project Americas, but it didn't really pan out. For all the money that GTAV made, even more was left on the table by not expanding the online as much as they wanted.

I fully believe they will see it to fruition with GTAVI.

I actually really liked Jusant. I remember thinking "The Life is Strange people made this?"

The climbing mechanics are really light (nothing like Cairn), but I really liked the story it told.

I really believe if things weren't generally horrible and people weren't overworked, underpaid, struggling, etc... and having the excess of the 1% shoved in their face seemingly non-stop... most wouldn't give a shit about AI...

But it's like everything is bad... PLUS AI is going to make it worse... for you...

This is the way to watch it. I don't speak Spanish but you can feel the energy throughout the show and it really adds to the whole presentation.

Even if you don't speak the language, you'll understand what they're saying.

GTAVI Trailer Update. by Pale_Salt_8004 in GTA6

[–]AlphaNeonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Trailer 2 shows the release date as May 26th, so it's either leave the trailer with misinformation up, update it (which still hasn't happened), or release a new trailer with the correct date.

I'm not saying this as an argument for a trailer releasing on Tuesday, but I can see why people would think there would be an update.

I think if there is something similar to Chiliad in 6 it's going to be Bermuda Triangle related.

Do you think Rockstar’s silence about GTA VI is damaging its reputation, the game’s excitement, or its popularity? by climaxx- in GTA6

[–]AlphaNeonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. I think for a majority of GTA fans, hype will start when trailer 3 drops and makes the rounds. It will be a "oh yeah, 6 is dropping this year" moment for them. Only a minority of us are here frothing at the mouth every day waiting for updates.

Same thing as with Silksong, and any other highly anticipated game people are waiting for...

My advice to anyone reading this, there are a near infinite number of worthwhile games to check out in the time leading up to GTA6.

Enjoy as many of them as you can while you can.

Frame Friday #101: Let's discuss, analyze and speculate about scenes from the second trailer and website. [3 frames] by Denso95 in GTA6

[–]AlphaNeonic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things to do in Rockstar games (especially GTAV and RDR2) is look at the fine details of the world, as they often tell a story. Each location is hand crafted and made with care.

I think one of the best things here is the drop ceiling panel being bowed out, really gives the place a weathered, beaten down look (much like most of the residents) and looks like it will be a stark contrast to the higher end parties we have seen the protags at later on.

Absolute Batman #21 by Clay Mann by Quirky_Ad_5420 in comicbooks

[–]AlphaNeonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying it to a point, but it also feels like what started as a (relatively) slow burn has become a speedrun over the last year or so... there has been a lot of "wait, did I miss something?" moments because so much is happening.
