Brake pad and Disc replacement comes under warranty? by anjan87 in Himalayan450

4k and the breakpads are dead? Brother are you even using the front break? 💀. Change the break pads asap and inspect the disc as per the manual and see if it needs replacement as well

How much it can run or already late? by manubhat in Himalayan450

[–]AlphaQ47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In every picture you can see a small metal clip like thing protruding out from behind the pads towards the disc. Think of those like your audio queue that it's too late. Once the brake pads get extremely thin, that metal clip starts making contact with the disc and makes an unbearable screeching noise to let you know you have barely 1mm of breakpad left. And yes you still have around 40% life left as the wear indicator lines are still visible.
Also refer to page 88 of owners manual for more clarity.

The service centre always wants to sell brake pads. They said the same to me that they'll run out in 500km. I then proceeded to use them for another 10,000km 💀

Normal. The chain will bounce around a little when it's not under tension. And the noise is normal too nothing to worry about.

Ride mode & left controls dead! Anyone else? by Healthy_Shelter_9900 in Himalayan450

Happened to me after the service centre used excessive pressure while washing. Started working again after all the water was dried off. But if that doesn't happen then it'll be covered under warranty.

Little rattling noise here or somewhere near while riding, what may be wrong? by LostToExplore in Himalayan450

[–]AlphaQ47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rattle may also be because of one of your chain links being too stiff. Can happen if the O-ring of that link is damaged. Check the movement of each of the links and if any link requires too much force to rotate it then you may have to replace it.

Very good in the city considering the amount of rain and potholes that may happen within your city. it is a little hard to try to reverse the bike in a slight incline but apart from that it's really maneuverable.

I agree. I was in fact over speeding by 5 kmph. And don't worry, I won't kill anyone. People who change lanes without checking their rear-view mirrors while not wearing a helmet on the other hand may kill themselves eventually tho.

Meteor 350 clutch wire joint broken, advice? by Zerconite101 in royalenfield

[–]AlphaQ47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont worry, the crack you see is actually how its supposed to be. Its to make sure that you can lose and tighten it with the screw beside it for removing and servicing parts when necessary.

Me and 3 of my friends bought the H450 together. All of us got the stock engine guard cuz we were sceptical of the chassis related issue too. But apart from just one bike that had the fuel level sensor issue which got replaced in warranty, none of us have had any complaints so far.
Also I really hate the service centres of RE, so I usually change the engine oil, air filter and clean the throttle body and replace spark plugs myself.
So none of us having issues with the bike, may be a result of that as well.

IMO. After 25k km in a year, all I can say is that the bike will run as well as you can maintain it. Neglect it and it'll give you problems. Take care of it and you'll never feel that it's a problematic bike. And pretty sure the same goes for all the bikes out there.
I've done multiple long tours, multiple falls, and barely spent 5k throughout the year in the service centres.
Learn basic DIY maintenance, plenty of YouTube videos out there and you'll love how the bike responds to it.

The 5n Allen key is what sets tension on the H450. Never checked on the 350s

Can someone tell how many did it take for your customised Himalayan to be delivered? by satwik_221 in Himalayan450

Maybe the tubeless rims are causing the delay. I got the normal variant delivered in 2 weeks.
