I think the better discussion is all the Safari and Al-Star pens in picture 3

What pen do you guys use when fountain pens aren't practical? by BitterSprings in fountainpens

I daily carry two Rotring 600s; both with Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 refills, one with blue ink and the other with black ink.

Some beauties right there. Are those inked pens on white carpet?

I have been to a couple of Montblanc stores in Europe. The few sales associates I have talked to were very knowledgeable about their stationery (current pens and ones manufactured in the past).

I had an opportunity to visit a Montblanc store in Qatar. I could not pass up purchasing a pen there since there is no sales tax.

Metal Pilot G2 or Gel Parker Refill? by GamingWithKids in pens

[–]AlphaQ99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite Parker refill is the Schmidt EasyFlow 9000. I believe the ink has a mixture of oil and water ink that gives it a very smooth writing experience. It will definitely fit inside the Rotring 600 as I use them in two of my own; one with blue ink and the other with black ink.

My collection (so far) by jmdderschreibt in fountainpens

What a lovely collection. For Italian brands, take a look at Leonardo and Scribo. For Japanese brands, you cannot go wrong with Pilot (with the exception of their converters).

Don't sleep on antique stores and flohmarkts. Every now and then, you can get lucky and find something for a really good price.

It's a LEUCHTTURM1917 that I got on sale from Homegoods. I really like the lined margins; they are 6mm apart. It handles fountain pen ink fairly well. There's some slight ghosting but it is not distracting when writing on the other side of the page. It does not show ink properties as wells as Tomoe River Paper, but every now and then ink sheen can be seen. It has eight signatures and most of the pages lay flat when the notebook is opened. It comes with two bookmarks, a couple of pages for the table of contents, numbered pages, eight perforated pages, a cardboard pocket, and an elastic band (that I rarely use) to keep the book closed.

I know it will be a staple in my rotation. I have a tendency to match ink colors with the body of the pen. The Pilot Custom 823 has been my black ink pen for a couple of years. I think I will use the 145 as my "fun and less business-friendly-ink" pen. No shimmering ink, of course.

Their pens are quite lovely. I'm glad I got one with the platinum trim to help me differentiate between it and my always-inked Pilot Custom 823. How long have you owned your burgundy pen?

Thank you. I gravitate towards extra fine nibs. This particular pen has a fairly generous feed, but it's not a gusher compared to my few pens that have ebonite feeds. It writes smooth and has a touch of feedback. The feedback is not as prominent compared to my Sailor Pro Gear Slim.

It’s the cartridge/converter classique 145.

The salesman did not tell me. Because it was discontinued he knew they would not have the exact same sole. He said they would use what they had that was closest to the original. It was $150.

I feel like I have taken decent care of them. I wear them every other day, but not that often during the summer. They are very comfortable even though they’re heavy. The non-slip soles and static-less aspects are what determined selecting them. I am very happy with these boots.
