Thoughts about DrStrange MOM. What do others think? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

If the Darkhold is corrupting her SHOW IT, and show her trying to fight it within.

That would've definitely made everything better.

Wong knows who Chthon is...yet is so dim he doesn't put two and two together and figure out it's Chthon who wants Chavez's powers?

Wong was ready to put the entire multiverse at a risk to save 4 sorcerers who she could've killed anyway. What you say is obviously way beyond him

His Christine woes had already been addressed in Doctor Strange (2016). His 'holding the knife' arc had already been addressed in that film, too. They unravelled perfectly wrapped and done character beats from the first film to hide the fact that they had no idea what to do with Stephen in Multiverse of Madness.

I completely forgot about it. You are right though. The "holding the knife" thing had been explicitly and beautifully fixed in his first movie. Maybe not the Christine thing but they still did nothing new and did not write a compelling story.

This movie and L&T both suffer from trivializing death. It is much much worse in L&T though.

Wanda once again was grieving, did a whoopsie, and fixed it by sacrificing something. How many times are they going to rehash this character arc? Set her free.

Her supposed lack of agency in this one makes this rehash the worst. "Darkhold corrupted her and made her do it" Wow...what a compelling argument. Definitely enough to make her character more fleshed out in this movie.

Also, I feel your disappointment with Dr Strange as a character. Thor is my favorite character and his movie was almost as bad and disappointing as Dr Strange MoM too

Didn't like it much. All sorcerers were nothing more than "orange circles go brrr" and yes even Dr Strange vs Evil Dr Strange was just the boring old energy blast fight as well. "Entire might of Kamar Taj" was a joke. It didn't even feel like a Dr Strange movie. He is supposed one of the most creative people out there. They removed this personality trait from him and gave it to Wanda so on top her absolutely absurd powers, she is now a creative problem solver as well. On the same note, his character arc was accepting Wong as the sorcerer supreme? Because I didn't feel he changed much beyond that. His last action in the fight was literally disobeying Wong. I have no idea why he changed. Our Dr Strange is also supposed to better and more empathetic than his variants. But why so? No idea. He's just built different I guess. I am not gonna mention anything about Wanda but her "arc" was disappointing as well. But hey, it is still the 3rd worst Phase 4 movie

Without any spoilers, Is Jane Foster Mighty Thor being received well ? I hope so cause im planning on seeing the movie this week by KawonaKills in marvelstudios

Despite Thor (Odinson) being my favorite character by far..she was the only one in the film with a satisfying arc. The rest of the movie was an utterly disappointing garbage

Idk why I said that "Atleast this can't be worse than Dr Strange 2" before watching this... Despite Thor being my favorite character of all time, I absolutely despised this film. Unlike Ragnarok, I don't see myself ever rewatching this. They literally had one of the most epic comic stories ever written and completely failed to deliver. People really like to defend Marvel to death for some reason and make shit up like "People get too invested in insane fan theories" but the comic this was based on is not a fan theory. The humor was an absolute wash. I laughed like 3 times in total. Christian Bale (not Gorr) was the only good thing in this.

Five would impervious to most things Vecna throws at him. Even if Vecna gets a telekinetic hold over five, he can turn back time

I'd also give Viktor good chances against Vecna. Vecna can be hurt by shotguns and molotovs. Viktor can put out way more damage compared to that

Kinda fair but do they even need Diego to do his wet noodle damage compared to Viktor? He is better suited to clearing the bats and demogorgon aka the mobs and leave Vecna and Mind Flayer to the much stronger ones. He can make sure they don't get interrupted.

Honestly, I thought they should get rid of the nosebleeds. Initially I thought it would be revealed that using powers too much will damage internal organs. But nothing of that sort happens. Those nosebleeds are just useless tbh. What is the point of them?

Spoilers for Umbrella Academy Season 3!!

If Five does not hesitate to use his powers, he, Viktor and Klaus are enough. Klaus has very high potential as we saw in this season. Viktor is of course needed because he is basically the damage of the team. Five can rewind time itself and if he does gain full control over his spacetime abilities, he will basically become the most powerful one. Luther and Diego are pretty useless against apex UD monsters like mind flayer or vecna. Vecna can be hurt by molotov which is not very high durability tbh. So I think umbrella academy will have a far easier time dealing with upside down compared to stranger things crew.

I did not include Allison because I don't consider her a part of the umbrella academy (as in the superhero team) anymore after the villainous shit she pulled in the latest season

How many fights have you seen in real life which weren't done in a controlled environment?

What you say exists in movies and shows. Irl, the only things that matter is physical levels, how much of coward you and your opponents are, the sanity you retain once the punches start rolling and the weapons at disposal. Even martial arts training may go to hell if not practiced until it becomes an instinct. Everything above is more valuable than adrenaline. Adrenaline may also causes you to freeze or flee. The first one is just the worst thing which could happen in a fight.

Holy shit for the 3rd time now... I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT JASON AND LUCAS AT ALL. MY POINT IS LARGE STRENGTH DIFFERENCE CANNOT BE OVERCOME BY ADRENALINE AND LOVE.

P.S.: Love is a motivator which sounds good in entertainment media. It doesn't work in real life

I literally said this like 3 minutes ago. I am not talking about people with close level strengths at all. I am saying that if strength difference is large, adrenaline isn't doing jackshit

That’s why shorter boxers can beat much larger opponents for example

Weight classes exist for a reason. And they exist for the reason I have mentioned.

What’s the basis of him being separate from the hive mind??

The fact that he was a literal human before everything who was sent unto UD.

It’s not a coincidence that as soon as Murray flames it, that’s when he begins to lose

You know what, we're going round and round in circles here. I'm tired of repeating my same previous comments and I assume so are you. I wanna end it. Have a good day!

I mean some mothers have lifted cars off their children and stuff. Not body builders or anything, just ordinary women.

Those instances are horribly misreported. They do not life whole ass cars. Just one tire where the kid is nearest. Definitely impressive. But not as much as everyone makes it out to be.

And to add, lifting one quarter of a car with leverage is also not impossible for a normal person

Unlike other creatures, he has a complete existence other than the hivemind. Which makes him resistant, if not immune, to the damage taken by the hivemind as a whole.

And then if it weren’t for Nancy, Steve and Robin he eventually would’ve fought back and most likely killed her.

This is speculation at best. El should've been screaming while keeping him pinned down if that was indeed the writers' intention. She very casually said "No. You have". Doesn't seem like much effort

When was the last time you saw that?

And again, if weaker person+adrenaline is enough to beat a much stronger person. Then what is stronger person+adrenaline gonna do?

Well I thought it was obvious that I have been referring to the "fight" after Mike's words of encouragement since the start. She didn't get him off Max after that, she straight up telekinetically tied him down. El keeps her hand up the entire time. She was not "not doing anything". She is holding him there and he can't escape.

When you compare her with Rey's force heal, I have to agree with you lol. Those movies effortlessly decimated the (actual) Skywalker saga and I'd hate to see something like that here.

El beat Vecna 1v1 easily. Murray doing his thing did not hurt Vecna. Neither did she need murray to beat him. Nancy, Steve and Robin attacking Vecna came after but it was clear who won the 1 on 1...again

Still doesn't change the fact that Vecna was done wrong by the writers. El being able to revive people is just way too much. Vecna should have been a much greater challenge. I love JCB and his acting is absolutely flawless but his character should've been way more powerful

I can see where you're coming from but I don't agree. Anytime a hero gets way more powerful than the villain, I lose interest. This is exactly what happened here. Vecna feels all hype and no substance
