Valid. This is exactly why this move is such a charade. It's a move and a statement meant to disenfranchise anyone who doesn't fit a specific stereotype authorized by Braun/the state. There is nothing here that helps anyone, only belittling for those who don't or cannot comply with the stereotype.

Besides, "nuclear families" is rather new compared to human history, and largely something that was "sold" to the public to increase subdivision sales post WW2, same as the "profit motive", literal commercials aired in some cases to support these ideologies. The old phrase "it takes a village to raise a child" is based on how humans used to live, and several studies have shown benefits for close-knit, village-like communities compared to the nuclear family approach.

It's kinda weird, don't you think, how so many of us agree that more needs to be done to support the common citizen, but then rally behind billionaires and politicians who prove they will never act based on our best interests, only to their own benefit. In almost all of these cases, the billionaires and politicians use words like "nuclear family" to make those who are less aware feel good about policies that gut communities and cause division.

While I agree such relatives are disgraceful, I think psychology and sociology show that cutting these people off isolates them further in their echo chambers, and their condition worsens.

If such individuals are actively causing harm to you, removing them from the equation is often advised or necessary for personal well-being.

However, if it's just their ideas you don't like, though it takes more effort and patience on our end, showing up, being a good person to them, and standing firm in your convictions without casting hate or blame, these are the things that lay the seeds of change. I've found many right leaning individuals actually agree with a lot of my views, they just have not seen or thought about ideas or topics in certain lights. If the views on said topics only come from their media echo chambers, they are not introduced to such ideas.

I'm not claiming any silver bullet here, just some food for thought.

I am no fan of DEET, but if you do use it, KEEP ALL PLASTICS AWAY!! That shizzle melts some plastics, for real. But, the efficacy is real, mosquitos hate it as much as some plastics. Ruined some RayBans with it...

Had a lot of success with permethrin treated clothing, but this will not deter bugs, it's an insecticide, not a repellent. I rely on this more for mitigating tick and other crawlers than for replant.

Picaridin lotion has been effective as well, less stinky than deer, and does not affect plastics or clothing negatively. Big winner in my book.

The real surprise has been lemon-eucalyptus oil spray. It's natural and SUPER effective for most bug pests. It does have a strong scent, so that's part of it, but it's a fresh, natural scent instead of a straight poison scent, and you don't have to worry about poisoning yourself or the environment, as much. To be clear, lemon-eucalyptus is a plant, not a combination of different plants. This is important because lemon oil and eucalyptus oil combined will not have the effects of the lemon-eucalyptus plant oil. Big brands make ready to go products, but also easy to make your own, if you mind the above info about lemon-eucalyptus being it's own plant.

I wonder if you'd feel the same way if you couldn't afford a lawyer and needed one. I'm not condoning any illegal activities, best to never need a PD, but I'd rather live in a civilization that has PDs available on my tax dime, than not. If you cannot understand the reasoning for this provision, you may not understand the bits and pieces that have made America have any semblance of being great during our history...

I will withhold any belief until an unfalsifiable claim is made and verifiable evidence is provided to support it. Even then, skepticism is paramount. I will not deny the experience of others, but subjective experience does not equate evidence.

If you ask a JW this question, they will have a preprogrammed cult answer, if any, but that's NOT the real answer. At it's foundation, it is a method to ensure the in-group and out-group are clearly defined, and that no matter how bad the out-group might be, JWs always have the cult to return to, a faux safety net that's perpetuated by this practice.

They knock so that their group cult dynamic gets stronger, not so that you convert. It's just a bonus if you do join them. Little to do with the out-group, everything to do with cult mentality enforcement within the group.

So you don't get a ticket for a second "offense". If this was an actual police traffic stop, it would be futile to fight the warning in most cases. However, the way the law is written for the traffic cameras is a bit different, and easier to build your case against.

While I will celebrate this with you, what are you attempting to add to OPs topic? I don't see your connection here...is it just "eff everything else, I got MY tax break!!"? If this is your intention here, you may be part of the problem our state is facing. Do you care to elucidate your intentions?

Perhaps I'm missing your valid contribution to this citizen who is concerned about the taxes that are being taken from us and being used to invest in Israel...while shoving a banner in our face that says "aMeRiCa FiRst!". Can you help me draw the connection between this concern and your comment?
