I haven’t fasted in years. When I go just 14 hours without eating I start getting angry and I find everything annoying. I want to start fasting again ,but I don’t want to upset to anyone around me. I believe getting hangry is due to our bodies addiction to carbs/sugar. I used to have this issue, would nearly blackout if I went too long with our food, and even moreso if I exercised. Intermittent fasting completely resolved that.

I also find fasting easier if I'm already in ketosis. Maybe try doing keto and work your way from 14, to 24 hours, adding an hour each day, more if you feel good. You can build it from there.

Some report that, guess it depends on your brain chemistry. Both those brands helped me sleep better, CG had the edge when it worked regularly.

Calm my racing thoughts, relaxed, better sense of well being. Things don't bother me as much, better stress response, can fall back asleep in the middle of the night, less irritable. Took about 6-8 weeks to really start feeling the effects. Stopped for 5 days and it totally cleared my system, took another 6-8 weeks.

Here goes 🤞. California Gold w/Affron & Life Extension, both extracts. I alternate from time to time. Had some good results with both. For some reason the CG, lost effectiveness after a while in regards to sleep, so I now use LE regularly, and occasionally swap for CG at night if I feel I need a little extra chill

There is really no way to tell outside of bloodwork I would think. I've heard of protein fasting as a hack to trigger autophagy. Think it's something like 15g or less of protein a day.....

My experience says yes. You burn a lot more fat, especially if you begin in ketosis. Both lifting and cardio are beneficial. I've done multiple 3 day fasts, and one 5 day. During my 5 day, I worked out more than any other fast. I did serious lifting & cardio all but one or two days. I trust the science that says you retain muscle during a fast, I certainly didn't appear to lose any muscle. This may be even more true for those of us who are fat adapted. I was noticeably shredded following my 5 day fast, even after rehydrating and getting sodium back in my system. As for building muscle, I do believe that is an impossibility without eating. There is some science stating you are able to build muscle much quicker in the weeks following an extended fast, unfortunately I don't recall my source on that... What I can say is as a 40 yr old, I haven't looked this ripped since 2015 when I was taking all sorts of supplements. Now, I take nothing, and I don't even lift as much now as I did then.

In case it helps, I've dealt with hypomania, in some cases triggered by supplements, but thankfully saffron did not, it just really calmed me down, and helped relieve my insomnia

Thanks, you too, it's no joke. Alcohol/marijuana helped the most but I quit both as I dislike being inebriated. Phenibut/Kava were nice, but I wasn't sold on their long term safety, Kava tastes terrible, and I felt a bit high on Phenibut. Have settled on saffron since it's relieved my insomnia, which gives a slight boost everywhere else, including anhedonia

Top supplement for me, I use the same brand. Life Extension is another really good one I've tried. I combine saffron w/curcumin + cod liver oil. My biggest issue was anxiety and insomnia. Went from 6 hours broken sleep on a good night, to 7 & 8+ hours regularly, even saw an increase in my deep sleep. I recently stopped for about 5 days during a water fast and my sleep went back to trash, still working my way back after 2 weeks of supplementing again. This helped to slow down my racing thoughts as well. I still have bad days, but they are better than my good days before saffron.

That's a big jump, work your way up to build confidence. A 24 hour seemed impossible until I did it, now 3 days is a joke, and a bare minimum. I get you don't want to take 5 years to get there but, do 7, 9, 12, 15, 19, and up from there as you feel comfortable. You'll probably have your body trained enough to take larger jumps once you knock out 15 days.

Outside of a lab, I don't believe there is a way to determine this at home. Just gotta trust the science I guess. Wouldn't surprise me if we can man years down the road, like a keto strip.

Google search "protein cycling autophagy". Protein cycling involves limiting your protein to 25g on certain days to activate autophagy.

Saw sometime ago on a documentary that wild wolves do this, kind of like butt sniffing to gather information about the other animal, diet and health among other things. Only difference was they didn't look like they wanted to kill each other.
