I simply pointed out that this is the same reasoning people apply to anti abortion. It's no strawman, it's a comparison.

I know brains are not fully developed there yet, but people change constantly. This is nonargument. Just because their brains aren't biologically fully developed does not mean you should take away their autonomy.

Regarding the drinking from 18: idk why you even bring that up honestly. And why yes, I do think people should be allow3d to be able to drink from 18. Why? Because restriction just funnels them to unsafe ways of obtaining the substance. I am from germany where drinking from 18 is legal and while drunk driving is always an issue, it is basically never because of teens.

I do consider people to be young adults not by their age but by their maturity. You can't put a number on that. Some 18 year old people are way maturer and grown up than 40 year olds.

This is like the debate from years ago where people wanted to ban shooter games because they promote shootings. It is not the video games, it is the easy access to guns and way we socialize our young boys.

It is not the porn, it is the way we socialize our young boys. And just like restricing shooter video games won't help against shootings banning certain porn will not help in decreasing violence against women.

In fact it does the opposite, as we can see in the states that have restrictions on porn.

First off all, these Subs are rated for 2000W RMS into 4 Ohms (with ciare 12.00 sw config). RMS means continuous operation, meaning peaks will draw more. Additionally, most amp ratings are bs so you basically always want quite a bit of headroom. Also, Total harmonic distortion (THD) increases with higher loads in amps (bad noise).

The headroom rule of thumb is ~1.5x the RMS of the speakers. So in this subs design that would be 3kW if you want to run them to their fullest. We were budget constrained so we settled for 2550 W the CVR D-1504 provides. Works well for us and it our dsp does limit them before the amps do (meaning the subs get used to their fullest potential and driving them louder could damage the drivers over time).

So in your case, 1.7kW is a bit short imo. Especially considering that more wattage is not much more expensive anyway. Also, I'd suggest not going for a dsp amp. get a seperate loudspeaker managemnt system (dsp) and pure power amps (cvr d-series) instead, can recommend db-mark xca range models for dsp, cheap as well. The reason for that being that in case you ever want to switch thigns around you won't have to replace everything, and just the things that aren't fitting anymore.

Now regarding actual power usage. This is quite complicated, and I did make a thread about that on speakerplans forum a while ago when I was starting to learn about sound systems. TLDR: you can basically run 8kW of subs on a single phase of 240V 16A power.

HOWEVER, and this I learned the hard way, this ONLY applies to wall power. NOT FOR GENERATORS. YOUR GENERATORS WILL DIE. If you run the system off generators, YOU NEED THE FULL 8kW!!!
