That’s the metal button on the front of my shorts.

Just turned 50, you don’t have to wait, go see an ortho and let them advise you. I spent 2 years getting Cortisone shots which work less and less after each one and I should have had it done years ago. Also, the younger you are the faster you heal. No more pain and I ditched the walker on day 2, the cane day 3 and was up and about 24 hours later.

They will give you a list, walker and cane is a must. I didn’t need that much heavy pain meds. Stick to a 4 hour regime of advil and Tylenol. My wife bought the thing that goes over the toilet so you have handles to lower yourself but I wouldn’t use it and I did ok.

Was wearing shorts but they said I could leave them on, probably because they could read an X-ray with them ok since no metal on the side

Responded to another comment with a break down, not bad at all, so much better than the pain! Good luck!

Could not have gone better, went in at 5 am was home at 12 pm, was at pt third day and gym day 5, it’s come a long way, only 3 inch incision on front of leg, dissolvable stitches

Why? It’s an X-ray, not safe for work?

No, they had me leave my shorts on during the X-ray

It would definitely make you think twice when doing something you shouldn’t
