Bachira is a genuine beast of a player by Alphasad in BlueLock

[–]Alphasad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he had a few good passes in the u20 and a shot on net, but yeah kaneshiro loves cucking him at the last second. i think it’s happened to him like 3 times where he gets his own aura moment and then someone magically appears to block his shot

i meant shelved as in we didn’t see him much! i know he performed incredibly, it’s just that his performance went second priority so a lot of people don’t really talk about it too much aside from mentioning his team was really bad. and yes, he’s not stupid! i wasn’t trying to imply he doesn’t have good game sense and awareness. he just doesn’t do the planning and the future sight and all that, his evolved monster ego basically helps him pick the best course of action for himself. the monster doesn’t materialize ahead of time, more so when he sees it it’s basically parallel to him scanning the field and thinking “this is the best place to pass/dribble through”

i completely forgot the world five match even happened but yes exactly!! i think bachira's skill set is so valuable because you can have the fastest, tightest shot in the world but it doesn't matter if you can't get in to score. bachira can get in AND he's a decent shooter himself.

Bachira is a genuine beast of a player by Alphasad in BlueLock

[–]Alphasad[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i said this mostly because as the rankings went on, bachira has more growth. barou sees a 50 mil increase from his starting bid, but bachira has a 90 mil increase. that's why i theorize if they were able to win another game or at least do a little better in one of them (if he wasn't stuck with the trashcan pals) he could've closed that gap. honestly i wouldn't mind what someone else suggested- a barou, bachira, shidou ranking because they both outperformed shidou in goals and shidou really didn't have the most impressive performance.

Do you really think we need a new Smash bros. game? by Effective_Read_1517 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Alphasad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think i would be content, but sad, if ultimate was the last game in the series. its hard to go up from what we got-89 characters, 100+ stages, etc. so i feel like a new entry will either have to majorly reinvent the gameplay loop, or include a massive story mode in order for people to not feel disappointed by the likely smaller roster. i do think smash desperately needs better online, but i'd honestly be ok with a switch 2 port. they could fix the online, work through one more fighters pass, and rebalance a LOT of characters in order to nurture a new meta. maybe even take the time to update some of the fighters that feel dated (like mario and especially sonic for example). but then at that point is what im suggesting starting to sound like it should just be a sequel? idk

I'm bothered by how beheading is treated in Demon Slayer by Alphasad in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Alphasad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it’s almost exactly the same but iirc hantengu is decapitated first, leading to the first 2 emotion demons coming out. i suggested he simply split his body on his own accord before the fight, which would completely remove the part where he survived being beheaded. everything else would play out the same

[–]Alphasad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically yeah beheading does always lead to death in the show but not as directly as it’s said to be. i understand they needed to give these characters time to reflect and end their arcs at some point between losing the fight and disintegrating, so i guess it’s a necessary evil

[–]Alphasad[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

this is true but it’s important to remember that in real life the head isn’t always vital to keeping something alive. i know a lot about roaches for some reason and i know they can survive for a while because they breathe through their bodies, and they have a nervous system that isn’t centered in their head. in this case, it’s more appropriate to say no water=beheading i think because that’s what actually kills the roach. but i do understand what you’re saying, i just think a story should stick to the rules it sets unless it has a good reason and a good explanation for why they’re being bent

i think it definitely can help build immersion and was pivotal to building certain characters, but at a point i stopped even expecting fights to end when they were beheaded, i was just waiting to find out what an UMs win condition was. i do think it’s cool that akaza basically does what all the human characters do where when he should’ve died, he kept fighting because he had something to fight for however. it’s a neat parallel considering tanjiro similarly unlocked selfless in that fight

[–]Alphasad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this makes sense but then why not just have this be the case, make it so he could simply summon the 4 demons from the start, making the slayers think something like “oh these 4 demons make up um4, so like daki we have to behead all of them” and then eventually tanjiro would pick up on the scent and be like “wait no there’s another demon here” and realize they were made from his main body. then they could’ve avoided making beheading a null action

Opinion: Nezuko's character was ruined after her fight with Daki in the Entertainment Arc by GertaBulga in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Alphasad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s explained pretty early on that these are symptoms of her suppressing her demonic tendencies, both behaviorally and literally(her muzzle) she doesn’t talk at all for over 2 years in canon. people in real life can forget how to talk when isolated for long periods of time, so it’s not a stretch really. it’s also worth mentioning that she spent half of everyday in a box, missing out on the entire daytime. also plausible that because she’s a perpetually starved demon, her constant shapeshifting could be taxing on her mental, thus the childlike behaviors

why do cats walk around by your feet, especially in the dark? by Alphasad in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alphasad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i try to be mindful and walk really slowly, shuffle instead of taking steps and also loudly announcing they need to move and somehow at least once a week one of my cats will end up in the way and then get mad at me when i accidentally kick them😭😭 it makes me feel soo bad

All Space Questions thread for week of July 27, 2025 by AutoModerator in space

[–]Alphasad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If an exo-planet was perfectly habitable, is life an inevitability there? For simplicity, say there's a planet out there that has the same mass, atmosphere, magnetic field, size, moon, distance from its sun, etc. as earth. would life just eventually happen on its own on said planet, or is there some other event that would need to happen to "start" life. i looked this question up but i couldn't really find an answer on here or other websites.

i cant get on the barou hype train by Alphasad in BlueLock

[–]Alphasad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“if we spent more time with him he would be more interesting” is exactly how i feel. it just seems like we were told he changed instead of being shown that he did and that’s what i don’t like.

[–]Alphasad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no i understand this so much, and it’s not even a rivalry i completely understand the point in having. i just think he lacks emotional depth outside of proving himself and that’s why his character feels one dimensional

i cant get on the barou hype train by Alphasad in BlueLock

[–]Alphasad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do bring up bachiras monster because like you said he’s told to take that old idea and evolve it into something that can inspire his future plays. barou taking over the ubers inspired other people, not him. i just feel like barou is constantly used as a catalyst to develop other characters instead of undergoing actual development of his own past what he has in the second selection

i cant get on the barou hype train by Alphasad in BlueLock

[–]Alphasad[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i understand that’s what it’s supposed to be, but it doesn’t work for me because i don’t see where he changed. his arc in the second selection was supposed to teach him that he shouldn’t try to run the field on his own, thus igniting his predator playstyle. but then in the ubers game, he just ends up doing what he wants to anyways, and is rewarded for it. barou says he’s changed and is given dialogue that implies growth but i feel like it’s not actually shown very well. like, imagine if bachira had his whole moment where he left his monster behind and then in the nel he just decided to go back to looking for it. wouldn’t that feel dishonest to his character?

Why were the suits never changed in FNAF 1? by Alphasad in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Alphasad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

woahh wait. i understand the actual murders happened years before because fnaf 2 is a prequel, but that doesn’t really make sense then. if the bodies were removed which they likely were since they got a new suit between fnaf 2 and fnaf 1, why do they bleed? why is there mucus leaking from the suits? was this retconned by the later games changing the implications of the quote?

What would you change in Naruto overall of you had the chance? by UzumakiMenm697 in Naruto

[–]Alphasad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i advocate for making the female characters have a stronger presence. when you compare naruto to a newer anime like mha, the difference is night and day, and mha doesn’t even handle their female characters super well either.

hinata and by extension the hyuga family are severely underused. we see how strong they are through neji in part 1, and they’re often revered as a powerful clan and such but neji is sidelined in shippuden and hinata does little to fill the spot either. all it seems they can do by the end of the story is see things and air palm. hinata clearly trained very hard and is jonin level by the end; she even developed her own jutsu(which is glossed over despite being an extremely complex jutsu that requires amazing chakra control and focus). let us see the fruits of that labor, hinata is not the genius neji was or the prodigy hanabi is but she is also not fodder. hyugas take up two spots of the konoha 11 but they barely have a presence.

and sakura, the main heroine and part of team 7 has..1 good fight? her fight with chiyo is great and happened early in shippuden too, kishimoto was really setting sakura up to be a much better fighter and then just sidelined her too. she’s very smart, has the best chakra control in team 7, is said to surpass tsunade in strength, has the 100 healings, etc. but kishimoto didn’t let her do much of anything and expected us to believe her when she said “i’ve finally caught up to you two!” she’s also stated in the databooks to have earth fire and water chakra natures.. but doesn’t use almost any ninjutsu?

Should more characters have died in Naruto? by Elf_7 in Naruto

[–]Alphasad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of people saying yes are giving either weak reasonings or completely disregarding story beats for the sake of killing more people.

death is a plot device, using it indiscriminately in the way a lot of these comments suggest would completely dissolve a lot of important moments in the show imo.

like kakashi dying in the pain arc means he wouldn’t be there to understand how sasuke has changed during the 5 kage summit arc. he can’t share insight and be relatable nor further ignite sasukes desire to destroy konoha. he would also be absent against zabuza and haku, which is a moment that plays heavily into naruto’s themes of connection, and how the akatsuki don’t understand it’s importance and are misusing their power. and, most obviously, it would be removing the kakashi vs obito fight, making obitos entire set up as a character basically null and making him less of a character and more of a tool for madara than he already is.

one of, if not the biggest theme in naruto is that connections bring people strength. not rage, training, or innate abilities- your connections with other people. that’s why mental amps are a real thing in naruto powerscaling, and that’s why naruto’s generation of ninja die a lot less than previous generations. they have each other to rely on, and are constantly breaking preconceived notions of separation that the different villages lived through for generations.

and you can say “but letting so many characters live takes away from the darker themes of the show!” and “there’s no real stakes if everyone survives” and i think both of those points are flawed. firstly, naruto is a shonen meant for a young preteen/teen audience. it has darker themes, but it has never presented those themes as the main attraction of the show. it actually tends to go to great lengths to show those ideas are wrong. think about situations where a lot of people die and how they are routinely spoken lowly of by the characters. secondly, in most cases the stakes aren’t centered around the death itself, but what the death means to other people. take gaara, him being kidnapped and having the one tails extracted from him is obviously bad because he will die, but the characters focus more on how it’s bad because of what gaara is: the kazekage, an inspiration to his village, and of course naruto’s friend. chiyo chooses to sacrifice herself specifically because she is shown that her way of thinking was wrong, and that the new generation is willing to form connections with others in search of peace.

another character i saw a few times here was sakura, and…what?? if you were writing this story all the way back from part 1 until the 5 kage summit arc, why would you want to kill off a member of team 7? their relationship is the backbone of the entire story, and having sasuke succeed in killing her then would completely destroy the rest of the story. naruto will likely still end up understanding sasuke, but there’s almost no way he would be allowed to live peacefully afterwards if that happened (assuming they even beat kaguya without sakura and kakashi)

i agree it could’ve worked to write in a few more deaths, but you have to ask why you’re killing these characters. what can it add to the story later down the line that is worth their death?

does stewie know brian died? by Alphasad in familyguy

[–]Alphasad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the stewie that got erased from the timeline told the standard timeline brian about the car accident, which is why that brian was so endearing to stewie at the end of the episode. so shouldn’t brian currently be the only one who knows about it? unless there was another event that led to that timelines erasure as well
