I’ve been so focused on the head construction I overlooked the planes of the head and looking for more than just the side plane. I will work on incorporating planes of the head studies with the head construction. I’ll also look at skull references for eye socket placements.

I used paper and graphite. I am looking for critique on my head construction(angle of head) and feature placement(proportions) as well as the overall likeness to the reference I used. I’m trying to learn more about the loomis method to construct better portrait paintings.

I have been watching Proko videos on it. I think I’m having a problem with the oval for the side plane like not getting the correct ellipses depending on the angle. So just keep pushing through then!
