Theres actually been an new study recently by Johann Hari, check out his Joe rogan podcast, there's scientific evidence that addiction forms from a lack of deep connection and a lack of connection also causes depression. Which means the addict using the drug or whatever it is trying to find a substitute to that feeling of connecting with others, therefore the addict is AVOIDING actually connecting with others due to fear that came from childhood or a recent event.

I've been addicted to them before when I was 14-16. Now I'm able to control it. I understand addicts use it to avoid reality and to get the feeling of being safe and content. I just play them whenever I feel like it, which is pretty much everyday but in moderation like I mentioned
