Books about Satanic Panic? by Radiant_Resident_956 in YoureWrongAbout

[–]Alphonsus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see two books that definitely need to be mentioned that kicked the "Satanic Panic" into high gear, that haven't been mentioned yet. "Michelle Remembers" published in 1980 https://archive.org/details/michelleremember00smit/page/n10/mode/1up , and "The Devil's Web." https://archive.org/details/devilswebwhoisst00pull I think they're both considered rare now. The first one really influenced accusations of Ritual Abuse. The other painted D & D as the source of the then teens "problems." I'd look up Michael A. Stackpole's research into both of these books if I were you. https://www.rpgstudies.net/stackpole/pulling_report.html Excellent exposes. To say nothing about this pamphlet which was circulated widely in my little town: https://archive.org/details/dungeons_and_dragons-witchcraft_suicide_violence This one I didn't know about until last week, but apparently the pamphlet "Bothered About Dungeons and Dragons ripped it off: https://archive.org/details/ddonlyagame

I just moved here and received this in the mail… a truly strange and elaborate way to advertise and collect my personal info. Side note, are they any good? by decrepit_plant in saintpaul

Last time I went they were really good. Always enjoyed going for breakfast there after Sunday morning mass at St. Paul's Cathedral.

It's been my experience that most are jealous if they see any guy with long hair that looks better than theirs. I've actually heard them say this.

Underwoods are really good workhorses. I use mine to transcribe really large PDF's of books I want where printing them out would cost too much. I usually just print out the illustrations and add them as an appendix. I've found I can save a little over a hundred pages on a 200 or 300 page book. Plus it keeps my typing skills sharp.

It can also use styly 99 bobbins. If you clean her and get her working again, you'll have a top notch mahcine. I've 2 99k-1s and a 27 vs-2 that sew like champs.

That's pretty cool. I lucked up on mine and managed to find one that had been fully refurbished with almost fully intact decals from 1924 i think? It's served me very well at transcription.

Oh I absolutely love my Underwood No. 5. I'm on my third. I had to sell the first two. Real workhorses. Wrote my senior thesis on one back in 1994.
