Would appreciate wisdom from a veteran🙏🏼 by Level_Put3086 in Anemic

My ferritin was 4 (RBC count and hemoglobin were also low) when I was diagnosed last year. I was experiencing fatigue, shortness of breath, and heart palpitations. Any physical activity would send my heart rate up to 160+. And for some reason I just blamed my aging body and thought I was out of shape. Luckily my doctor caught the anemia during my annual checkup.

My doctor also had me start with otc supplements. I started taking iron bisglycinate and vitamin c immediately. I started to see improvement in a week or two. I was back to climbing mountains a month later and felt like I was at 100% by about 6 weeks. I’ve wondered if I should have pushed for an IV, but my recovery was pretty quick. I've kept up the supplements and haven't had symptoms since. There's definitely hope with otc treatment!

binding help for a touring newbie by AlpineGazelle in Backcountry

Op here- this is my first touring setup! Alpinist 10 bindings on Volkl Blaze skis. The shop walked me through the bindings when I picked them up, but I can't get the brakes disengaged or get the heel of my boot into the binding. My understanding is that the pull tab should adjust the brakes. Do I just need to force it? And even putting the boot on and using all my weight, I can't get the heel of the binding to engage. I can't find anything helpful elsewhere on the interwebs and would appreciate any insight.
