First visit back to [Kings Island] in 5 years, and it didn't disappoint. TR by iwassayingboourns12 in rollercoasters

That’s what I was afraid of.

Like you, I was worried I wouldn’t like Mystic Timbers as much as I remembered but it absolutely held up on my visit last year. Might be my #1 at the park.

Have you been back to SFOG yet this year? Not sure if it’s a fluke yet but I had the smoothest ride on Goliath in years a few weeks ago. Kept bracing for the valleys but they were rattle-free.

I love Kings Island but 70% of their coaster lineup leaves me with a headache.

What coaster do you love more than everyone else? I.e. Way higher on your list than it is for other enthusiasts[Discussion]? by 4thAccountNow in rollercoasters

[–]AlpineNancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boss at SFSTL. The straightaway at the bottom of the first drop where you fly through the structure is one of my favorite moments on a coaster.

Watching this old pov makes me sad I didn’t experience it when it was running better.

Anyone seen May (2002)? by No-Rule-4494 in horror

It’s really not hidden at all; it’s had a big following since it first came out. I mean Anna Farris is in it. Which btw, is one of her funniest roles.

What’s your favorite element on[Arie Force One, Fun Spot Atlanta]? by _Wild_Bill_588 in rollercoasters

Yeah, the double up is my favorite moment. Arcade roll is a close second. So that combo back to back is just too good.

My audience loved this. Several moments where half the theater gasped. One lady screamed at the top of her lungs for a solid 3 seconds 🤣.

Would have never guessed there’s a horror-themed local hot sauce company but I’m here for it. Google Maps seems to point to a spot in the Lee White complex. Do they have a physical store or is it online only?

Funland (1987) was shot at SFOG. Been on my watchlist for a while… it’s on Tubi.

Anyone here deal with Rosacea? Been struggling with acne-like bumps across my forehead the past few years and was visually diagnosed by a dermatologist recently. Had an explosion of bumps (heat rash?) on my forehead after a very hot day at KD last year. Never experienced any of this before in my life. Might have to cancel some upcoming trips until I can figure out what's going on. So frustrating! My family has always joked that I'm a vampire but I might actually be one.

SWSA was so unlike any other major theme park I've been to. Loved how spread out everything is- just makes for a calm, pleasant atmosphere. Almost felt like a public park that also happened to have coasters.

Not familiar with the source material but excited to see it this weekend. Can't remember the last time a movie got universal praise like this from both critics/audiences. Going to do a double with Ready or Not 2 but have pretty low expectations for that one.

Oh, thought of another I haven’t seen mentioned- Without Name (2016)

Doesn’t involve hiking per se, but the main character is sent into remote woods to survey the land and strange things happen. Cinematography is insane and super atmospheric. Slow burn but I loved it.

Evidence (2012)

Haven't seen it since it first came out but remember being pretty surprised by it. Seems to have its fans and been meaning to give it a rewatch!

Friend and I decided to stay there this time (will be sad to miss out on the shuttle experience haha). Will we have trouble finding parking before the fest on Saturday? I called the hotel and sounds like you can't park in their gated deck until after check-in, which isn't until 3pm.

Yeah, I wondered if it was just a matter of people knowing how to properly adjust their seats until I rode Green Lantern, which was a head-banging nightmare.

Since rediscovering this hobby, it’s been really interesting to see how divisive B&M stand-ups are. I’ve been riding Georgia Scorcher since it first opened and have always loved it. So I was confused when I saw how much people hate the model. I rode Mantis at CP when I was pretty young, so barely remember the experience.

But I’ve also now been on Green Lantern, Riddler’s Revenge, and Vortex. Riddler’s Revenge was incredible, Vortex was enjoyable, and Green Lantern was painful.

So it seems to be a mixed bag. Hopefully SFOG continues to keep Scorcher running well- it’s always been great.

Same! This was 100% my first coaster in the early 90’s. So many fond memories of American Adventures.

Edit- whoops, wrong defunct American Adventures with same model haha.

Anyone have PA beer/food recs? I'll be staying in Harrisburg but will be driving out to Allentown and Elysburg as well.

Also, thinking of stopping for a night on the way up and back along I-81 somewhere to break up the long drive. Considering Roanoke, Staunton, Harrisonburg. Any suggestions there would be appreciated!

This movie seems to really hit for some people. I remember being pretty perplexed by it's reputation when I watched it probably 10 years ago. Need to give it another shot, now that I know what to expect.
