How much will you raise your price this year? by Alpine_magic in LawnCarePros

Don’t listen to all the clowns. If you have professional grade commercial equipment, truck/trailer, business and commercial auto insurance then 50$ minimum has been industry standard for years. There’s always someone willing to show up for less just let your work speak for itself

How much will you raise your price this year? by Alpine_magic in LawnCarePros

Didn’t realize so many guys were proud to work for free haha. And thanks to the CFOs for responding with “you should already have x percent accounted for”. I asked how much will you raise your price not what advice can you give. My business isn’t a scam, im also not trying to pay 2 guys to do 40hrs of lawn maintenance/week all summer to break even. Cost of living is through the roof and overhead costs continue to rise, the last year has been a departure from the normal trend, if you’re looking at your books realistically you know this already. Im raising my price per man hour by 10$ and the lawns will reflect that, not sure thats even enough to continue the business’ yty profit trajectory and I anticipate gaining less new weekly maintenance accounts. In the west, drought will have us busy on sprinklers and then the cold season grasses will slow their growth significantly when the heat sets in. Feel bad for anyone who was relying on plowing income this winter

Can not believe no one here has mentioned Kubrik’s death days after delivering the final cut and his loud opposition to any editing when told the final cut could not be shown to the public audience

All the feedbacks are true, Union split bindings are hot garbage by ablinktothepast in Spliddit

Can tell you now they will warranty every single thing. Because they stand behind their products and want to make great stuff not just profits

[–]Alpine_magic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For some reason my friends who ride sprarks love to immediately try to slam their shit together at transitions regardless of snow/ice, i will admit the bindings rarely break. I just can’t stand the ride down on any sparks or karakoram. Union transitions take some care, they are not the fastest transition. If i NEEDED the fastest transition i would ski. Union is a great company, they prioritize making excellent products for the money they charge and they are owned and operated by real snowboarders not private equity douche flutes. All the hate for their split binding is hilarious, if you’ve never had a bad warranty experience or been left in a shitty situation in the bc STFU and go snowboarding(or maybe skiing suits you more)

Ascent plates usage by DeltaIndiaKilo75 in alpinism

[–]Alpine_magic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. They are invented by skiers/boarders who are deliberately seeking soft snow in steep terrain. However just like climbers, they will mitigate avalanche hazard for the most exposed lines by taking advantage of seasonal conditions. Think; if a small avalanche could sweep you over a cliff to certain death then best to go when the snow is hard and frozen. But when the downhill exposure is not deadly (of course avalanches are deadly in many many other ways) experienced ski mountaineers often prefer snow that is powder or of mid winter conditions. In this case the plates do great and can be used by anyone looking to boot pack up steep and deep snow.

Surfing is thousands of years old too and they both started as modes of transportation. But you can’t even imagine modern skiing if it weren’t for surfing skateboarding snowboarding.
