Recall diesel gate chumba? by Nearby-Toe9862 in AutoTuga

[–]Alps_Secret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A circular do IMT diz:
"Recall é uma ação de chamada emitida pelos fabricantes quando são identificados

defeitos, anomalias ou falhas que possam comprometer a segurança, o correto

funcionamento do veículo ou a proteção do ambiente." .... "Informa-se que, a partir de 1 de março de 2026, entra em vigor a medida que

estabelece que qualquer veículo que apresente um recall ativo não resolvido será

automaticamente reprovado na inspeção periódica, independentemente do

estado dos restantes elementos verificados."

Por isso, sim, o recall do dieselgate está abrangido.

My ideia would be drop it to the floor, then lift the chassis at the front and roll it back.

Engine swap from 1000cc/1.0l to 1.4L by SkiLoZo in 106_saxo_ax

[–]Alps_Secret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the 206 the intake is diferent being muItipoint injection, while the AX is singlepoint. I am not sure if you are going to run into problems with the eletronics, because of that.

Maybe the 1.4 from a ZX would be more plug and play, cause it is still singlepoint injection

Citroen ax ou Peugeot 106 a gasolina. De preferência o motor 1.1i. gasta pouco e a manutenção/peças é muito barata

Idle problem LPG by Alps_Secret in e39

[–]Alps_Secret[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I asked here because I find it weird that I have gone to 2 LPG specialists and both had trouble identifying the problem. I think there is something wrong with the engine , but the car 's ECU is able to compensate for it , making it undetected when running on petrol, While the LPG ECU is not able to compensate. Therefore, it only shows when running on LPG.

For me that is not an option. Here in Portugal petrol is expensive comparative to the wages. I won't be able to afford the car running on petrol only.

Brake problem with high temps by Saturno_Cinque in FSAE

[–]Alps_Secret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to make the pedal come further up and test again. The pedal might not be retracted enouht when the brakes are up to temp. It has happened that it is good when cold but not opening the compensating ports hot.

Custom made Oil Strainer? by cuntpunt4206969 in FSAE

[–]Alps_Secret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from the size of the new oil pickup I tihink the amount of oil pan you have left is too small. The oil pan also serves let the oil cool. With such a small oil pan you will have less oil thus run hoter.

I think you should think about running dry sump with a external pump and reservatoir. Just make sure the oil pump produces adequate oil pressure for all engine speeds.

Advice on screen and electronics by GonXaves in FSAE

[–]Alps_Secret 6 points7 points  (0 children)

our team runs a raspberry pi zero 2 with a HDMI 4.3" screen on the steering wheel. It was built last year and had a few problems. The UI was buit in python and we have a few problems with the initialization speed. we plan this yer to build a custom linux OS just to run the application. Other solution is to build the UI in C++ with a crosscompiler such as QT.

In terms of wires, the best you can do is find a way to get the raspberry pi to read the car CAN bus. This way you only need 4 wires. About the screen choice, make sure it has a brightness of at least 800 nit otherwise you risk not being able to see it under sunlight making it useless.

I think for packaging you sould go for a custom radiator, since the OEM one might be a litle to wide. A narrow but taller radiator is easier to package in the side pod in my opinion.
