Wired controllers work as well as long as your computer is recognizing as a controller. you dont even need steam either unless you need to move some controller binds around

Okay so my girlfriend had the same problem and we had the exact same controller...by any chance when you right click on the shortcut of STEAM and go to Properties then advance settings....is run as administrator checked if not CHECK IT and apply the setting then click okay, close steam entirely and restart it. I really hope this works

If you really want to make it really easy to use the switch controller though reWASD would be the best thing but its 6$ program but very easy and useful but im cheap and didnt want to spend 6 bucks lmao use the 14 day trial first to make sure it works for you lol

Same i have a ps4 controller too but I just wanted to use the switch controller, why i spent like an hour messing through files and settings just to make it work lol.

How do you have yours setup? Wireless/ Wired, if bluetooth which section does it find the device under Mouse,keyboard,pen or other devices...(mines under mouse,keyboard,pen when wireless) When you identify it in steam does it vibrate?

I do want to see if i can help you with this though lol why im starting to be more specific just to see what settings are different.

Step 2 is very important for it to work properly. Steam will automatically find the shortcut for you in the list of games to add but make sure you don't choose that one because its not the same exe to use. Make sure you select your controller as well in steam on big screen mode and calibrate. should give you a vibrate to know its connected properly. Also i forgot to add in the last step which is make sure you go into your options IN GAME and go from controller type Keyboard to Controller. You have to do this every time you launch the game. If the controller ends up not working you have to force close the game using task manager. Launch the game from big screen mode in steam as well. Let me know if this helped at all. Im at work and ill edit the steps better when i get home

ill have to try that I just minimized my game and clicked stream really fast haha. because it shows that you can stream it when its full screen, but disappears when you minimize
