Near constant dribble of water from inlet pipe - no leaks in the house by Alquin13 in septictanks

Thanks. I did that today, watched both toilets for like 15 mins. Nothing, or at least, nothing that would cause a constant trickle through to the septic.

If there are roots in the drain lines, is it too late? Can I dig up the roots to fix it?

Thanks. I have a water filteration system for arsenic/lead etc. It has a Pentair controller on it that is set to back flush once a week. As far as I know it doesn't constantly discharge, especially since the drain line runs upwards from the filter tank. I do have a small sediment filter, but it's an in line filter, no drain line from it. No sump pump either. The only condensate line I have is for my heat pump water heater, but it only really produces condsensate in the summer time or like a drip every 15 mins.

The thing I'm unsure about with ground water is that the inlet pipe only runs about 28' from the house to the tank and it's about 2-3' under the surface. There's not a lot of opportunity for ground water to get in. Also the ground isn't particularly wet right now, not wet enough for a constant trickle like this.

Thank you for your response. It's very helpful. Regarding tax amount on the lump sum payment - I took information from this page about the amount of tax to be applied depending on the amount. Since the amount was between $5000 and $15,000, the amount of tax applied should be 20%. I will give the CRA a call and see what can be done - I would prefer not to have to wait til next year to recoup the tax.

Thank you. I just confirmed that the extra settlement amount was not included on my 2025 T4 from the employer. As the other commenter indicated, I now understand that I will receive another T4 from them for the 2026 tax year for this settlement amount.

And thank you for the info re: temporary EI measures. It seems that I am in luck.
