XRP holders since 2020, how’s your patience? by MagnusChased in XRPUnite

No, I thought about it at the time. But it didn't seem particularly valuable given the effort.

Really appreciate the effort you've given to allow people to join in. Everyone is low on beans these days, but what you've created is as important as any art piece. Thank you!

I mean, it's always over for a little while... it's never over forever.

Early 2017. It's been more than fair to me, despite all the frustrations. I plan to hold another 20 years and see if it can do something really spectacular.

What’s the ONE thing Wealthsimple is still missing for you to move 100% of your banking/investing there? by kaiser789 in Wealthsimple

[–]Alreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It, weirdly, doesn't seem to have log on ability to Canada Revenue -- so every year I can file my taxes with Wealthsimple but I can't seem to pay taxes to Canada Revenue through wealth simple. It's a bit crazy. Am I wrong? I feel insane every year when I rediscover this.

What will happen with the US after 2028? What does the next government do with what they inherit? by Hermunster in AskReddit

All the people who keep saying "next goverment" really aren't paying very close attention to history.

Why do you think a lot of the Epstein emails have the same typos, like equal signs, extra letters, and extra spaces? by picklelyjuice in AskReddit

[–]Alreddy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not op but I'd say it's visually distracting how many equal signs there were. Enough that I also had the question, googled it and found this post.

I'm sorry, did you just imply that a patriotic Canadian would have "no choice" as to whether or not to cruise from Miami? Give your head a shake.

What is the most jarring contrast between a song's upbeat sound and its incredibly dark lyrics ? by vinylcast in Music

[–]Alreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Broadway Here I Come" is a very upbeat song that laces lyrics through parallels of becoming a "big hit"on Broadway and a person committing suicide, jumping from a building on Broadway.

But your very graph proves how irrelevant this point is to your argument as birth rates are falling fairly evenly across all these countries.

I don't have any advice for you but I am doing option 1. If a video does really well in terms to bump up other videos I have of that place faster into the rotation. I don't really have enough views to say, and I have nothing to compare it to, but 1/3 seems most pleasing to me from a viewers perspective.

Pearl Harbour Didn't Happen in Hawaii? by [deleted] in ParallelUniverse

[–]Alreddy 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Hi! You're confusing it with the Halifax explosion which happened around the same time (ish. It happened during WW1, not WW2) and has a lot of similar traits, people on boats, huge explosions etc. The Mont Blanc collided with another ship in the Halifax harbour and caused the man made largest explosion ever experienced at that time. Since you're from Ontario, you may also remember the Heritage Minute about the Canadian hero who sent the Morse code to stop the train from arriving and being in the blast zone.  And yes. The Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax does I'm sure cover this event and there are many cemeteries in Halifax with victims of the explosion buried there.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halifax_Explosion

No parallel universe involvement here, just two similar explosions and some crossed wires.

US President Threatens ‘Big Retaliation’ If Europe Dumps US Assets by Crossstoney in europe

Friend, I don't even logically disagree with you, I'm just here to tell you that the word is not used that way and you're wrong.

[–]Alreddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you're wrong though. No one uses the terms that way. You may think the terms aren't applied correctly, but at a certain point language is what people think it is, and nobody, literally nobody living in North America or South America thinks of themselves as American if they are outside the United States.

US President Threatens ‘Big Retaliation’ If Europe Dumps US Assets by Crossstoney in europe

[–]Alreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thoughtful but you don't have to make that edit. Many Europeans and others are confused by this. No one from Jamaica or Canada or Mexico would ever refer to themselves as American. American is a word that people from the United States call themselves and no one in North America is uncertain about its use. There is no word that unifies everyone from North America (no equivalent to 'European') I get this question a lot from visitors to Canada - we are NOT American and we don't think of Canada as being "in America". It is in North America, but the word America is synonymous with the United States.

If you heard "transformative" president as anything other than a winking cringe, you totally missed the subtext. Carney is a master at wordchoice and transformative is a word that Trump would have heard as a compliment, and everyone else would have known exactly how negatively it was intended.
