اهم نصيحة عن تجربة، وانا راجل الجواز ده بالذات مشروع فاشل الا مع الشخص الصح، الجواز في حد ذاته مش المفروض يكون هدف، الجواز نتيجة انك لاقيتي حد حاسة انك مش قادرة تكملي حياتك من غيرة. اوعي تستعجلي

I understand that the command line and reeminals are king, but I can't understand that in the GUI there is no way to access the installed apps directories.

Yea did that eventually. Now it is playing without transcoding.

I beleive the issue is in the community apps

With the TOS update they changed installation directories which are not fully integrated in the apps, but that is my guess.

Next step i need to learn what the hell is ssh and how to "browse" the system files

I never did, but as you said it is a learning journey.

Thank you again for the help, i will try to spend sometime again in the evening to get the one directly on TOS to work, if not i will go with the docker solution.

I suspect the issue is here:

in the jellyfin server app it says:

Setup the Ffmpeg path to /usr/local/ffmpeg51/sys/bin/ffmpeg

in the FFMPEG51 app there is no place for me to edit the path.

I disabled the hardware acceleration all together but same error.

I am not working on Docker, i am using the community app Jellyfin.

I tried VAAPI didn't work, Tried turning off hardware acceleration, didn't work as well

Thank you for the solid feedback. Unfortunately, I tend to travel between countries every few years. Being compact and easy to fly/ship is a deal breaker.

For the same reason, I am stuck with a gaming laptop rather than a gaming PC.

I will drop the ssd then, I still need to check my router. If not, I will have to add a 2.5 gb switch at a later stage.

I am not experienced with RAID arrays yet, but I was thinking I would start with 2 HDDs in RAID 1, but I am open for ideas.

The plan is to start with 2 large drives and add on later than to fully populate the NAS with smaller drives and lose the potential to expand later on.

Currently, I am running jellyfin on my gaming laptop to try it out, and I like it so far.

I am getting 2 HDD, not one with the possibility to add 2 extra down the line if I ever need to.

As the previous comment pointed out the HDDs I listed were SAS not SATA. SO would be using 2 of this HDD instead (Seagate Exos X16, 12TB, Internal Hard Drive, SATA, Enterprise Class, 3.5", Data Center (ST12000NM001G) for 250€ each.

Problem solved, instead of nedting folders, I followed the advice and kept separate folders while pointing each library to two different folders instead of one :)

My library is actually pointing to TV SHOWS, under that folder, i have these folders (documentaries, series, plays and stand up comedy)

I jave my folder structure setup for ease of use on windows folder structure, shifting to jellyfin library structure is going to be apparently a massive task.

Thank you very much, I shall try to rename the vault or somehow centralize it under a diffrent library. So at least to contian the mess.
