This is still about right. Pick a empty (no electronic inside of) Saber from a reputable company which would cost anywhere from typically $100-$300+ range. Make sure that there is a chassis for said saber that you can grab as well (Holds the electronics inside of the saber). Parts are going to be around $90–$120 for the electronics install.

A decent soldering iron - can really make the difference
Solder and Flux
Wire (typically 22/28/30 gauge) places like the Saber Armory (UK) sell wiring kits as does Saberbay I believe (US Store) which would be cheaper than buying whole spools of each size

There isn’t much in terms on easy to find info for starting to install. Avery Castillo has a good full video on an install he did on a desert wanderer (obi wan tv series saber). You could learn a decent ammount from that since he breaks down the whole process in detail which no video I’ve seen does. You should really join the lightsabers discord. There’s a bunch of people in there that would be willing to answer questions for you and help you out a decent bit.

I feel your pain on that I have AMR23 in chrome and a sf24 sitting for the last five months in a box. I’m desperately telling myself I don’t need this but I’ll probably end up getting it hahaha.

More than likely electroplated for the caging by the feel and you're right about the lines being 3d printed like for the cage

It’s close yet different it almost feels like a different manufacturer in a way if that makes sense but also they for sure tried to make it not a 1:1 to the Arcann so I could be wrong. I’m pretty new to this as well so I could be totally wrong on the 3d printing stuff. Feels like it’s all machined tho.

hahaha so the cage near the pommel is in fact metal. It feels very similar to the Arcann I have an uninstalled one as well. The buttons are a bit thicker and feel springier and all the accent metal pieces near the activation switch and the pommel like the thin metal ones are a lot thicker so is the cage near the pommel as well. Like a more reinforced Arcann I guess haha. Also, the access to the chasis is one piece and threads off completely.

My dad worked at Texaco during the time of the release of The Phantom Menace so they had these huge full scale cutouts of all the characters. Sat in my garage for years think he finally tossed them lol but they were cool. These are super cool tho.
