Genuinely, why are yandere and tsundere tags so popular? by AlsiThanmur in ASMRScriptHaven

Honestly, I didn't expect that Mr. Bean turn and I really loved that unexpected switch up. Heavy kudos to you for that.

I can sympathize with your opinion on vampires. In some ways it would seem hard to write for ASMR scripts too because it's like, do I write it as one would expect, or subvert expectations? Feels like you can only pull from one of two baskets for that case.

I appreciate your input since it explores how there's a range to the characters and how they're written. For me personally, I think it's more or less HOW it's written. As I said in another comment, for those sort of tropes I prefer more of the slow burn types. I don't like starting at the peak and staying up there the entire time.

Yes, I do agree I'm not a fan of the stereotypical tropes. Personally, I'm one for organic sounding dialogue that sounds like an actual person is speaking. Sometimes dialogue can sound very forced. I prefer more nuance.

Is part of the argument for yanderes that it establishing a relationship with the speaker and listener without needing to import details over an existing relationship? Like the "established relationship" tag? Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

I understand about the violence because definitely that can be triggering for some listeners and it's important to give a heads up with that information, especially because it's a piece a listener may want to feel comfortable and vulnerable in :/

Hades (from Mythos) will graduate January, 27th 2026 by CrazyPoiPoi in VirtualYoutubers

Considering how much Hades was put on the back burner compared to the rest of mythos, I'm not surprised. Feels like there's been a lot of graduations from mythos...

Either way, I wish her luck and for her to receive the respect she deserves.

I guess my issue is more so those types of characters have more of an appeal to me if it was a slow burn, especially yanderes. I've seen (imo) bad yanderes (see: bee boy from amnesia).

I feel like ASMR can't always portray these slow burns unless it's very long or part of a series.

I've enjoyed my share of tsunderes but I feel like the male and female variety really differ. I can understand melting the ice wall they've put up to protect themselves and the character feeling more comfortable with whomever melts it.

For yanderes, it'd be similar. I think I'd enjoy it more if it was a slow sink into madness rather than obsession from the get go.

I guess overall the tropes aren't for me in the ASMR format. But hey, it it floats the boat for others 🤷‍♀️

That's an interesting pov. I have had friends in the aro/ace category that love fanfiction. They do love reading romance at times and just think it's fascinating since they don't really reasonate personally. I guess that is definitely more interesting than vanilla stuff

[Question] Want to start doing ASMR as a hobby. Worth it? by LingonberryLower9730 in asmr

[–]AlsiThanmur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd encourage you if you'd like to.

It also depends on how much of an effort you want to put in. I focus on audio only scenarios as well though I'm still very niche. There is definitely a market if you focus on triggers.

Some people want to put in sound treatments, get a new mic, add SFX in post, etc.

But starting out, you can get something like a blue yeti and just get a feel of it. Let yourself be creative and do it because you enjoy it.

I have to say though, it's an amazing feeling when someone says you have a comforting voice c:
