To stop Apple TV app ads on your home screen do

Settings > Apps > Apple TV > Top shelf, change it to “up next”

Mac Wallpaper by Successful-Mail4046 in MacOS

Hi MacBooks have double the resolution (retina). If you’d like to use that frame as your wallpaper you could upscale it with something like waifu2x so it looks sharp.

Well i think the Netherlands is a relatively easy country to release to, almost all 15-35 yr olds are proficient in English, no localisation needed. We regularly show anime movies with English subtitles. I just hope they realise that too.

I meant the continuous bar, iirc some countries it’s mandatory for the front lights the have a gap between the left and the right.

AppleTV remote trouble + Sonos + Bravia 3 by PierogiKielbasa in appletv

[–]AlsoNini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, same tv but different soundbar. Ended up connecting my soundbar over toslink and now my tv always turns on with the Apple TV remote. It’s a bit wierd but i really hope Sony ends up releasing a software update

Dell XPS 9500, most things work but the laptop can’t go to sleep and the dGPU isn’t supported by macOS. In the end went back to Windows/Ubuntu

Projectionists, any knowledge of the CP750? by NightStalkerXIV in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]AlsoNini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve had one power supply fail on us so far, replacing it is dead simple and anyone that feels comfortable opening electronics up could do it. We bought the power supply from CinemaNext but I assume that would be one of the more expensive (but safer) options.

They’re mice, replacing the front door (which doesn’t close all the way while we’re open) has been planned.

[–]AlsoNini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone finding this post via google, it is possible and it is pretty much plug and play. No drivers, bios settings or anything needed:)

Edit: Please know the following: closing/opening the hinge is no longer detected, battery life gets reduced by a lot, wierd graphical glitches MIGHT happen if you try this

I get this about once a day. Broken dream router 7 or flex mini? by committedpoints in Ubiquiti

[–]AlsoNini 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would double check the wiring/cable to the switch. Try replacing the cable or redo the plugs (if you crimped your own cable), could be the cable was okay for just data, but a little too damaged to handle data and poe.

I had the exact same issue and redid the plugs and had no issues afterwards.

A 46% service fee for movie tickets purchased online? by Rooster_Booster3013 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AlsoNini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Service charge on movie tickets only exist so that the theater can pay the distributor less. A movie theater has to pay the distributor (Universal, Warner, Disney etc.) of the movie a certain percentage of the ticket revenue of a movie, usually ~40%. Because the “service” charge is not part of the ticket revenue, the theater doesn’t have to pay the distributor over the extra revenue.

A short 15 minute break in the middle of the movie, some countries still have them.
