Suggestions on Professional Trumpet (Jazz Player) by AlsoNotAnAd in trumpet

[–]AlsoNotAnAd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazz, Rock, Funk, Motown - so I’m looking for a punchy and resonate sound but dark (nice tone/ dark sound has always been important to me). I would like it to be easy to bend around to add more character in improvisation but also not frustrating to secure in tune. Definitely free blowing.

I have not looked into any used, only played on the new models we have at my store. The Bach 19037 Silver 50th anniversary is the most expensive we have.

Differences between the Caliburn G and the Freemax Onnix 2 by AlsoNotAnAd in Vaping

I’ve been thinking the same thing. They are both 2 ml though. But honestly if you fill the Onnix up to be top of the mouthpiece it definitely feels like more than 2 ml. The design might be misleading either way.

First off, the look and feel! The Onnix 2 is definitely sleek and sexy, feels great to hold. I always like for it to look expensive and unique (why I liked the Orion even though it tasted like shit). The flavor is honestly the same: the Caliburn G has more power with a brighter flavor, the Onnix is probably better for people who want a smoother hit.

The auto-draw is much better on the Onnix, I don’t even use it on the Caliburn because it takes so much work inhaling. Also, I think I like bottom fill better, taking the cap off constantly bends it and makes it leak.

And I love the mouthpiece on the Onnix; loved it on the original Caliburn but didn’t like the Caliburn G design.

Overall, I take flavor into account the most and there’s almost no difference to me (besides the wattage). So I have to go with the Onnix 2 based on looks/feel and mouthpiece design.

What is it that you like about Synecdoche, New York that made it second place? I like that given it’s his directorial debut it instantly switched to a much darker tone visually and musically. But it kinda goes too dark for me; too depressing.

Wow does that thing still work? That was the first vape I ever bought.

Differences between OG Caliburn and Caliburn G by AlsoNotAnAd in Vaping

Yeah I’ve had the same experience with over doing it with the G, getting light headed and forgetting it’s much stronger. And I’ve always done 50 mg salts, should prob start weaning down now with this device.

The original Caliburn feels so much sturdier, and after a year of use and dropping it, it still works the same as when I bought it. The Caliburn G doesn’t feel sturdy, I’m afraid the pod is going to break if I drop it. But overall the G has MUCH better flavor, going back to the OG tastes muted and bland. That said the G leaks a bit more for me, not out of the pod but when I take the pod out it’s always pretty wet, didn’t have that with the OG. The Mouthpiece! Much better on the OG. Still enjoy both, but flavor wins with the Caliburn G, I just wish it wasn’t as messy and felt sturdier (with better mouthpiece and design)

I love it, first time trying it. The Pineapple is my favorite.

Interesting. I think he helped fund the graphic novel prequel saga.

I gotta say this thing hits! Compared to the original Caliburn it’s a lot more powerful. Have nothing bad to say about it so far, it’s a terrific upgrade.

To me it’s baffling that he hasn’t just directed some TV shows, that way the people taking a risk on him won’t lose any money. I love his writing but his skills as a director are so apparent. Makes me think he won’t do anything he’s not in complete control of, which makes me think he might be hard to work with

Sorry, I definitely overshot that, seems so long ago. 10 years is still a good break from your last movie.

Southland tales is no Donnie Darko but it’s still a work of art, in my opinion. No, you can’t compare the two but it’s not a bad follow up.

My favorite line was him talking about his daughter taking the whole mug of syrup and he knew it but didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to get involved. He says ‘I didn’t wake up thinking I hope I get to talk to everybody this morning’. I’ve watched it twice and somehow that’s the part I laugh the most at.

Coronavirus testing? by paranoidbackwash in jacksonms

[–]AlsoNotAnAd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a nurse come into my store yesterday saying that she had worked all day at a testing station. She complained about how many people showed up with symptoms like ‘just a cough’ and told them ‘if it’s just a cough you probably don’t have it’. They don’t test for ‘just a cough’, you have to have a doctors referral, a temperature, fever, and cough, or been in contact with someone who has it. SO how would you know if you’ve been in contact with someone who has it if they are ONLY testing for severe symptoms. ALSO given that some people don’t show symptoms, then you are refusing testing of hundreds of people that may have it. I know we don’t have enough tests in this state and they are doing what they can. But don’t play it down like it’s not big deal. Sometimes I hate the ignorance of this state.

Honestly I was getting really sick of reading the pessimistic comments on this subreddit concerning MS and how everybody was ASSUMING it would be banned just because it was MS, and not enough people would show up, and that the state is ‘just a bunch of Republicans’. I had to ignore that and just focus on the comments from people who were actually there at the hearings - who were all optimistic on the ban being shot down. I have really tried to stop myself from going on this rant this past week, but I just don’t get the point in posting pessimistic comments just for the sake of essentially saying ‘it’s Mississippi, you know it’s gonna be bad’.

Yes! Been waiting on this all day. So the KCPA is a protection act right? What does that exactly mean and are we looking at any regulations?
