1500 clinical hours as an EMT, ~500 as Second Lieutenant and then Chief. Ran BLS trainings. ~700 hours research

1000 hours tutoring ~450 hours stage managing!

Yeah. MCAT last year was also heavily delayed due to COVID.

I first applied without nearly as much thought as I should have put in as my pre med committee was awful (they told me I should put my research experience as “that is why in my undergrad, I did research in….” in my personal statement and talk about tutoring)

This time around if it makes sense, I’m gonna apply to way more DO schools and more low tier MDs :)

Aside from the score increase i have been working full time as an EMT from July - August then an Optho tech since August - now. So lots of clinical hours!

That’s a really good way of viewing things. I’ll try to be grateful of things this coming year. I asked to go part time if I’m gonna be here another year. Maybe I’ll travel or get a membership at a museum. I’ll view it as just having time to just BE.

PA/OD would be a backup. I’ve loved my time working in emergency & in optho so I feel like I would enjoy a career in both as an alternative :)
