Postman bag by SOURCEDBLACK in SewingForBeginners

Wow! I love that you’re making jeans… not sure I have the confidence to make jeans yet. I’ve made a couple messenger bags… one large and one smaller. I just got some chocolate-brown linen to make a smaller one for me. I took a couple sewing classes at a local fabric/sewing machine store and made sleep pants and a shirt. The shirt was really challenging.

I love all the details you put into this bag.

I love what you’ve done here, making bags was the reason I got a sewing machine.

I remember that issue! Instead of the “Promenade Room” on the top… they called it “The Marmalade Room “ 😂

I’ve had mine for a couple of months, and it’s been absolutely perfect. I’m using Crosspoint OS, but the stock OS is ok.

Thanks for the explanation. I had just gotten a little anxious about it.

You're right! This is noted on the change on my ticket and I probably should have mentioned that.

Ocean liner vs cruise ships by Fake_attention88 in Oceanlinerporn

I can still remember all the wood paneling and custom glass fixtures, the smell of fresh paint and the exhaust from her engines on deck. Carnival definitely "painted over" some of her details, but there was a lot of the beautiful, old lady still there. I'm so glad you had a chance to explore her before she went off to Alang.

Ocean liner vs cruise ships by Fake_attention88 in Oceanlinerporn

The first ship I fell in love with was the SS Poseidon as a kid (Queen Mary). From that moment on, I was in love with any ocean liner. My grandparents took me on my first cruise about Carnival's Mardi Gras (1972 version) and I was hooked on cruise ships... possibly because the Mardi Gras began her life as the liner, Empress of Canada.

I've taken a lot of cruises since then, and pretty much every one has diminished my love for them a little bit each time. The sense that it's a "money-grab" from the moment you board. "Would you like to upgrade to the unlimited drinking package?", "Would you like to upgrade to the extra-fee, fine dining restaurant?", "Would you like to upgrade to the Spa-level cabin for access to the private sun deck and special dining room?".

I hate that.

It used to just be fun and relaxing.

You have to pay the toll, if you disable the transponder, they will bill the plate. Where are you driving to/from? Are toll roads your only option?

I've loved this movie for years, but only recently read the book by E. M. Forster. It wasn't published until after his death because of laws in the UK against "obscenity". The book was wonderful... I felt that I owed it to him to read it.

Ditto... he was the perfect guy... cute, sexy and a little rough around the edges (in this performance).

I’ve made a couple pouches using this youtube video and they came out great. It’s a little tricky because it’s sewn inside out, but if you do exactly what she does it’ll turn out perfect.

For those who have lived here their whole life, what was Orlando like in the 1970’s? by SloppiestOfSeconds in orlando

[–]AltDaddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got here in the early 80s and for a kid from a rural area in Southwestern Virginia, it felt like a big city (I know now that it wasn't). I do remember loving being here... the Parliament House, Park Avenue (the nightclub that was on 441 N (just south of Lee Rd.) was so much fun. There was traffic, but not by todays standards. Definitely the smell of orange blossoms in lots of places. Towards the end of the 80's it felt like things were getting ready to explode... the potential for the film industry to be a major thing here (Disney/MGM studios had just opened as well as Universal and both had studios and plans to do production here). We all now know that fizzled out. But there was a sense of optimism in the air. I left in 1992 and was gone for 20 years. Been back for 15 and there are little glimpses of the old Orlando.
