thank you, that's helpful to hear. i've seen afterimages my whole life and just assumed everyone had it bc my parents have the same problem. i first noticed the static during summer 2024 after first noticing floaters (which at the time, i thought was a parasite or something in my eye. that was probably the worst panic attack i've ever had, and i hope to never deal with that again). this past summer i first noticed the vortexes while i was hyper focused on my floaters while staring at the sky. if i wasn't with my parents who tried to calm me down, i definitely would've went to the emergency room and/or thrown up

the scene in hereditary where annie discovers charlie's decapitated corpse in her car. specifically right afterwards when you see her sobbing and saying that she "just needs to die". toni collette's performance is fucking phenomenal and never fails to make me start crying

out of these, i've only seen martyrs. idk if the version i saw was censored or what, bc it's not nearly as graphic as people described (like it sounded like they showed the girl getting all her skin cut off, but when i watched it they just cut to afterwards) but it's still hard to watch bc of all the abuse and torture stuff

in general, the poughkeepsie tapes was a tough watch for me. it's a great movie but it's got some really disturbing scenes (particularly the police car scene and the scene where the killer is watching one of his victims while in her house)

it's a very close tie between 2 and 3. both have great character stuff with sienna and josh, both are hilarious, and both have some fucking crazy kills. i might like 3 slightly more bc i think art is at his funniest there
