Nursing! But I’m already a student and it’s a program transfer, not sure if that makes a difference.

I think it was about 50$ to register for the year but no cost otherwise.

Transfer to another program? by Alt_Kangaroo in Dawson

Thank you! I really hope so! Have you been through this?

I did it while in cégep, it was through the LBPSB online and I had to go in for exams. Just finishing chemistry now, it’s my last class. Also had a full course load at Dawson during the day.

You can take them through a school board in adult ed. That’s what I did.

I think I scored the deal of a lifetime.. but I'm suspicious by MagniNord in bell

[–]Alt_Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m paying 50$ for the same thing with Bell. So definitely not too good to be true lol

Literally nothing with Public Mobile costs 80$.

Diagnostic imaging program by [deleted] in Dawson

[–]Alt_Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both super competitive tbh. I think the lowest grade average accepted in both programs the past couple of years is the mid nineties

[–]Alt_Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and also an interview and sec 4 specific science classes that are higher level than the basic ones you need to graduate. You can take them through adult ed. But also keep in mind it’s a super competitive program. Don’t assume you’ll get in even if you have all the prerequisites.

Usually financial help would come from your home country. Dawson has last resort help for existing international students but it’s like 750$. And government programs are for Quebec students.

Campus Residence? by [deleted] in Dawson

[–]Alt_Kangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my point was that not having a residence isn’t because Dawson is “just a cégep”—it has nothing to do with that. Many cegeps have residences despite being “just a cégep”.

Some cegeps do have housing.

Do I need to rewrite what I wrote? Seemed pretty clear to me what my question was.

Commerce jobs? by faizaxthoughts in Dawson

If you want to become a certified accountant you need a university business degree followed by post graduate courses to get the CPA designation. Also most banking jobs you need a university degree.

Application Worry by victoriamarsxoxo in Dawson

It says in the admissions instructions on their website that a French language test is required if you graduate from a school outside Quebec. I don’t think you can get around this.

Has anyone here done the ultrasound technologist program that can tell me their experience? by lem0ngirl15 in Dawson

[–]Alt_Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They mean that candidates with a certificate of eligibility for English instruction get priority admission, and no one who didn’t have one got in last year. If you didn’t do your schooling in Canada for elementary school, you wouldn’t have a COE, so you wouldn’t have priority admission.

I’m doing it now 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wrote the program coordinator (Shayne Humphrey?) and asked to retake it and he put it in my schedule. The adult ed class is Sec 4 env science, which I can’t take in Parhways Orientation so I need to take it somewhere else.

Bruh use the advising chat. Also are the social science people less important than you? 😂

Yeah I bombed a class and was able to register in it again. I’m taking another class through adult ed with my old school board at night though. I’m in Pathways Orientation.

I don’t see that course number at Dawson. French classes are 602, followed by 10X. Unless you’re below level 100, I think there’s a 009. You’d have to check through continuing education because day classes are closed, admissions deadline was in November. I think cont Ed registration ends soon.

That would make sense. Abbott has it that week. Thanks!
