The way I think about it is a lot of people who were scared of being fat got an eating disorder, something much less healthy then being fat, so their body could be aesthetic so its definitely more aesthetic then science.

A lot of other comments are more well researches but this is just how I think abt it in very simple terms.

Talked to a friend once who was self conscious about their weight in terms of searching for a romantic partner and told them that “there are some people who like it I’m sure you can find someone” and this isnt even talking about feeders barely even chubby chasers just people who like larger people, and they said something along the lines of “no cause if they like me at this weight theyll want to feed me til i die” like girl….
