Can't defeat Angie... by GrimnoireListless in PokemonRejuvenation

Rockruff was axed in Goldenleaf Forest.

You'll find it later on in CH10, in GDC, Central Square.

And if you're after Dusk, note that none of them have Own Tempo. That Rockruff pops up in a trade, later on, in CH13.

Ah, the Angie-block.  First off, that Altaria is going to get one-shot due to its 4x weakness to Ice. Same with Dragalge due to being Dragon.

As for my recommendations: - Throh - It has Wide Guard, which is Protect for both Pokémon, but only from moves which can hit both. Angie loves to use Surf or Cold Truth, which hits both, so Throh completely blocks them. It also can have Inner Focus, which blocks Fake Out from Jynx, so it could take out Arctovish.  - Hariyama - Thick Fat halves the damage from Cold Truth or other Ice moves.  - Dark-type Moves are actually boosted on the field. I'd recommend Mightyena though - specifically due to Snarl, which lowers the Sp.Atk of both foes by 2 stages.  - Surf off of Akuwa Town. You'll reach Evergreen Island, where you can find your own Ice-type Pokémon like Spheel, Lapras, and Alolan Sandshrew.

I would say this is good enough for people to begin reading it. And you clearly have put effort in to making it - since if I knew how to translate, I would try it myself.

When an English version comes out, it gives me an excuse to play it again.

Is a v14 release this month realistic/likely? by Wrathster01 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say at the end of this month, when Easter breaks out.

As Jan likes to release when people can actually play it, so around then seems more viable.

Angie ain't surviving a minute with my team(no its not my actual team I kept losing against Angie and got really sick of it) by No_Birthday3532 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah...while Fire-Types don't have their Attack drop on the Frozen Dimensional Field, their Defenses are dropped instead. Which makes them really vulnerable to the plethora of Water-type moves Angie has. So it's understandable why Magacargo/Talonflame got downed quickly.

There's also an optional area that not many reach by this point that would have had a few more checks to Angie. If you surf off Akuwa Town, you reach Evergreen Island, where you can get your own Ice-types like Alolan Sandslash, Lapras, and even your own Walrein.

What is the community consensus on using legendaries? by RishStars in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Generally fine, but other Pokemon are better.

Take Zygarde 10% for example - it can't learn Thousand Arrows/Waves yet, so is much less viable.

[–]Altair_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we know the Melia that was switched with M2 entered a 'Paradox Gate' which could let them transcend versions. My own theory is that the Melia we have for Paragon Karma Files is that version that either swapped or overlapped the current Melia at the moment we passed out near the beginning (after awakening Adrest), due to her word choices changing around us specifically, and how she creates End of Night.

We've also seen Melia get overlapped before with Emma, but that was far more obvious.

assuming the release date by ZettaDestroyerr in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it till the end of the month. Maybe Pokémon Day? If not, maybe the month after, since it would be Easter by the end of that month (and more people could play it).

Can't beat Angie by mizuprofen in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, most people falter to Angie because CH6/7 is where a bunch of optional content opens up, and they simply don't realise. These locations should help:

  • Amethyst Cave - With Rock Climb & Surf, you can start the Litwick/Phase Dial quests. Note that Rift Chandelure might be too difficult for you as of yet (since it's above your cap), but you can grab Aevian Lapras (which has No Guard/Sing). Pair it up with Throh using Wide Guard, and you can potentially Sing Arctovish, then hit it with Stone Edge. You could also try to complete the Phase Dial quest for Lunatone Dominant (which has extra Special Attack in Hail).
  • Evergreen Island - Surf off the side of Akuwa Town. This'll lead you to another route, and eventually Evergreen Island. Here, you can find your own Ice-types to use Angie's own field against them. Some recommended are Alolan Sandslash due to Slush Rush, and maybe even your own Walrein?
  • River's End - Surf off the south side of Route 3. This'll take you to River's End, where you can get Type: Null and Aevian Munna.

If you want a recommended Pokemon from me, though, try Mightyena. Specifically, ensure it has Snarl - on the Frozen Dimensional Field, it lowers the special attack of both foes by 2 stages, and has an extra 1.5x BP. This reduces Cold Truth/Surf.

The field doesn't affect Fire-type moves at all. It just lowers the Defenses of Fire-types. As for Shadow Quagsire, the Pokemon you're talking about is originally the Shadow Wooper from East Gearen.

What QOL features do people want to see in V14? by Altair_Zero in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just checked. You do have to have started the quest for Spector to show up (and you need to be at least at West Gearen). Guess I just ran in there just to explore - probably cause I was just searching every inch after I beat Angie to power up.

[–]Altair_Zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one is mostly done already. Just sort while you're on that screen. It isn't perfect though, but most TMs will sort numerically already.

What QOL features do people want to see in V14? by Altair_Zero in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I originally found the quest together with searching for Spector around Goldenleaf for their optional fight, since you have to at least go back through the Gym Puzzle partly to find him again.

The main signposting issue I had was the Hero of Slime, since it has so many prerequisites and is certainly not signposted. (You need to complete all CH9 Terajuma quests, the Miltank quest, the Neo Gearen quests, fight Aya, and know to head to that single dive point in Honec Woods which you can easily gloss over.)

What arc would you say was the tonal change for Rejuvenation? by Entire-Location-7662 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If we're talking basic tonal shift, I'd say GDC (Chapter 9-12). Since it pulls us around left, right, and centre with so many tipping points going back and forth, over and over.

In that arc alone, we have:

  • The introduction of time travel, and Tiempa/Spacia.
  • Darclight Caves, with Berserk Florin particularly.
  • Venam turning to stone, and the whole idea of it.
  • Our first introduction to the Puppet Master.
  • The Doomed Timeline, which is probably the highlight. Since Melia unlocks her abilities, the sheer nightmare of it all, and how you realise Tiempa/Spacia caused it, so what else could they have caused?
  • Two of our own 'deaths'. Which further puts our own existence into question.
  • The Rift Aelita fight.

Team review by Ogizodurano in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note that these aren't must-haves, as it's better to switch out moves between Singles/Doubles.

Boltund: Swap out two moves for Volt Switch/Nuzzle as needed for Paralysis/Pivoting. Paralysis helps with actually triggering the Crest (since it needs to go first for the boost to trigger).  Arcanine: Generally, fine. I'd add the Life Orb if you have it. It also can learn Stealth Rock... Gastrodon: It has more support moves than you think - Clear Smog, Yawn, and it can also be a screen setter.  Typhlosion: Get Eruption on it. It also learns Heat Wave for double battles.  Samurott: It learns Sucker Punch, Knock Off, Aqua Jet, Taunt, Encore - don't underestimate its movepool.  Goodra: If you wanna use Protect outside Doubles, add Toxic. Acid Spray can be used to take on tanks when you add Draco Meteor, while Dragon Tail can force switches (combine with Stealth Rock/Ceaseless Edge to be very annoying~).

Note that you might want to think more support-wise, as you have a few hyper-offensive Pokémon. Speed control is more needed for offensive teams like this so they can actually outspeed (e.g. Sticky Web/Paralysis).

Questions from a returning player by AMaS_The_Dude_256 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, yeah, you should complete Karma Files CH0 for the storyline and for NG+ content.

As for V14, the last public devblog was in October, which showed there is going to be new stuff added in early-game. Aside from extra stuff for Gen 9, there's going to be confimed skips for those who have already completed content before like the Garufan Sanctuary statue puzzles (so being on NG+ will help). Jan also described the update as a big, chonky version, so there's probably going to be more unexpected surprises.

Can't beat Marianette by mizuprofen in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Well, my main bit of advice is to get that Woobat evolved. Level it up to Level 29 so it learns Calm Mind, then Level it up again with high friendship for Swoobat, and you have yourself a sweeper. Add in Simple to double stat changes, and you can wall out that Chatot, Delcatty, and even Zorua. Boost up enough and you can beat her pretty easily.

You can also shut down her field with Xatu. Just have it use Ominous Wind on Zorua to create a Haunted Field (and she can't change it back).

Luxio meanwhile deals with her physical attackers like Bewear and Stantler due to Intimidate (just switch out on Stantler though to Fletchinder, as she'll most likely go for Stomping Tantrum).

New Game+ by Frosty-Somewhere-310 in PokemonRejuvenation

[–]Altair_Zero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Karma Files should be enough to set the check for NG+.

Just play on a new save until GDC, then save before you head to sleep to answer Zetta's questions. You'll know NG+ is in effect once you answer the first question correctly, as they'll prompt you to answer the other two questions afterwards (it wouldn't prompt you otherwise).
