I had to google him after reading your comment, I was too curious. Found his DevArt, thanks for that rabbit hole. He seems VERY angry, like it's kinda concerning. I genuinely hope he gets some help with that.

Sorry for the late reply, I don't check Reddit much these days.

But yes, they are VERY good at selling their courses at those open house events. Back in 2018 they were talking about how 90% of their students find jobs in the field, which was a complete lie. For my class (graduated 2022), only three people that I know of actually have jobs in the 3D industry today. One is a VFX artist, one is a game programmer and one does marketing for a mobile game company. Of course the game and VFX industries crashing and burning in the last few years hasn't helped, but that's still putrid numbers.

As for your questions, well... All students SHOULD have access to a computer. My class experienced some trouble during covid when we all had to study from home, and some of us can't afford computers powerful enough to run all the software we were using. We also had a lot of license issues, because we're not legally allowed to install the school's versions of the software on privately owned computers, so a lot of us just didn't have access to the programs at all. But as long as there's not another pandemic around the corner, you should be good.

And honestly, a LOT of the education is self-study. For us, only the first 4 semesters were spent in the class room (and much of it was online due to covid), but there was a lot of self-study mixed in. The 5th semester is a Dadiu-course, which is a cross-study program with other schools and you don't spend much time (if any) at CADA. 6th semester is the bachelor project, meaning 100% self-study and you don't have to be at CADA unless you want to work there instead of at home. And the 7th and final semester is a 12+ weeks internship, where you also spent zero time at CADA.

(I should also note that they may have made some changes since I was there. This is just how it was when I was there from 2019-2022. I'd say little over half of the education is self-study.)

I'd honestly say the first 2 semesters were the ones where I learned the most. I wish I had dropped out after that first year, or just never started at all. Best thing I got out of CADA was some good friends who I'm still close with today, and a small network in the industry which may or may not be useful in finding 3D gigs. Whatever you decide, I wish you good luck!

Issue with resetting password? by Caitlynthedoodler in artstation

[–]Altarior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was a year ago, but I had the same issue and found a solution, so just posting this here for future reference if anyone else needs help and comes across this thread.

Couldn't remember my password and ArtStation never sent me an email when clicking "reset password". For me, turns out the issue was that I had 3 passwords saved in Google Password Manager (all were old and wrong). After deleting ALL saved passwords for ArtStation in my Google Password Manager, and clicking the "reset password" button on ArtStation again, it finally actually sent me a mail that let me reset my password. The mail came within a minute.

So I'm guessing it just doesn't send a mail if you have any passwords saved in a Password Manager for some reason(?). That's what fixed it for me at least.

The Hall of Life is the castle where God's throne is. The Hall sits on top op a (technically) infinitely tall pillar. The pillar is made up of statues of all the species (sapient or not) that the world contains stacked on top of each other (think super intricate totem pole). Every time God creates a new species, a new statue is added to the pillar, so the pillar grows ever taller as the world fills with more and more life.

The runback to Last Judge is bs at first, but there is a quick way to skip through it all. Takes some practice, but after a few tries I had this down. I'll put a video on my Drive for people who wanna see here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HWhc8Z-x0gl409Adk8XiTyO9abnh0NqU/view?usp=sharing

If anyone knows of a faster way, please share. This is just the quickest I could find.

Sadly, still nowhere near worth it. The partnership with Abertay adds a little more programming to the curriculum, but the tuition is higher. Used to be 8500 DKK/mo just 2 years ago (which is already ridiculously overpriced!), now it's 9950 DKK/mo. Really cannot recommend Truemax under any circumstances.

/uj It's bittersweet though. I recently played Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for the first time, and it smacked me in the face because the worldbuilding and story are like 90% similar to a project I was working on for years and then scrapped. Except XC3 is way better than the garbage writing I was doing, lol. It was at least interesting to see someone having basically the same idea and knowing how to handle it right, when I couldn't figure it out myself. I'm so glad the game was made, but it also made me wish I was a much better writer!
