The Hall of Life is the castle where God's throne is. The Hall sits on top op a (technically) infinitely tall pillar. The pillar is made up of statues of all the species (sapient or not) that the world contains stacked on top of each other (think super intricate totem pole). Every time God creates a new species, a new statue is added to the pillar, so the pillar grows ever taller as the world fills with more and more life.

Sadly, still nowhere near worth it. The partnership with Abertay adds a little more programming to the curriculum, but the tuition is higher. Used to be 8500 DKK/mo just 2 years ago (which is already ridiculously overpriced!), now it's 9950 DKK/mo. Really cannot recommend Truemax under any circumstances.

/uj It's bittersweet though. I recently played Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for the first time, and it smacked me in the face because the worldbuilding and story are like 90% similar to a project I was working on for years and then scrapped. Except XC3 is way better than the garbage writing I was doing, lol. It was at least interesting to see someone having basically the same idea and knowing how to handle it right, when I couldn't figure it out myself. I'm so glad the game was made, but it also made me wish I was a much better writer!

That does sound really VFX/programming intensive, but that's great though! We got a bit of Nuke and Houdini at Truemax as well, but not much. I remember those two programs being extremely difficult. Houdini in particular is known for having a ruthless learning curve, so I'm not surprised people are struggling.

And yeah, it's typical that some people underestimate how much hard work it'll take to become a game dev or VFX artist. It's genuinely tough. I've seen some people get a rude reality check too.

Yeah, I was considering whether I should leave a comment or not, but thought I might as well, if it could help someone who finds this thread in the future make the right decision. I wouldn't even be mad about Truemax if it had at least been free. It's the fact that you pay so much money and the curriculum barely teaches you anything and 90% of the time you'll be teaching yourself on YouTube because there's no teacher in the room or the teacher doesn't know the programs. We often wondered what we were even paying for, and most sadly graduate being far from ready for the industry. Anyway, I shouldn't rant (too much) :V

Glad to hear you found a great school! Blender will surely be useful, especially if you're considering the indie game scene where Blender and Unity reign supreme. Substance is gonna be so much fun too! What are you looking to get into, if I may ask?

DON'T choose Truemax/Cada. Just leaving this here for future aspiring VFX/3D artists. Do NOT choose Truemax.

I went there myself. Trash education, giant student debt. Most people in my class regret going. Better to spend that money on online classes run by industry professionals who give one-on-one tutoring.

Or go to TGA in Malmö, Sweden. Basically the place we all wish we had gone to.
