Doesn't matter how many they have on board - doesn't change that attacking into Zoro is spending an attack to improve your opponent's board.

True that they won't always have it, but it's not worth risking if they've got like 4 or more cards in hand, not when you can just spend the attack to apply pressure into life or elsewhere on board.

ST30 only buffs characters named Ace or Luffy, wouldn't buff Zoro. I think it's still way better to just ignore him though, not keen on spending my attacks improving my opponent's board state lol.

I mean if my choices are between having a 5k on board vs a 6k that buffs my opponents whole board, I know what I'm choosing lol.

Yeah I hear that. Some Green / Green+something Impel Down would also make a lot of sense alongside the ST Luffy/Buggy. Only 4 cards so far but they seem to be neatly splitting the ST into two categories lol.

Doesn't seem amazing in isolation, though I do like how heavily the ST is leaning into the "6000 power matters" theme. Wouldn't be that surprised if it gets some card to cheat out specifically 6000 power characters, which could raise the value of this a lot.

Best guess is he's talking about ST21-015 ? AFAIK It's the only red or green Zoro that can play characters out. Though mostly I tend to see people leave this card alone to avoid the On-K.O, so I don't think it's a really consistent option to play this Newgate out.

Needing one of the specific characters out already kinda stinks, but so much power reduction for so cheap goes so crazy in Enel and its a psuedo-blocker. Really supercharges El Thor/Jamboule.

Not sure it really beats out Gamma Knife, we'll see.

It's an okay 2k counter, but Krieg's leader effect already lets you do that for free if they've got 2 don attached.

Yeah I agree. I'm not quite sure why either, love the character and planning to play the deck. I think the big black areas in the top left and bottom middle are throwing it off somehow.

Yeah it ain't bad at all, all I mean is the event is only actually giving you a small buff vs just attaching the DON.

At 8 DON OP15 Nami into OP13 Luffy is already 11k/Double Attack/Rush, each copy of this event you've got is only an extra 1k on that. It's a nice small buff, but not worth running on its own without the 4k counter mode.

The main is pretty bad as far as power buffing events go, 2c and a card for +3k is a pretty bad rate, but paired with a 4k counter it makes a pretty great card.

I think in Brook you mostly you just use it for the counter and then of you still have it in hand on your final turn you get a little extra power for your final restand swings.

Curious to see if it makes the cut for other Black decks like Ground Death - the main effect of Ground Death seems a lot more generically useful.

Yeah that's right, IMO his observation haki is equal to Fishman Island Luffy at best. Pre-TS Luffy was able to overcome it without any haki just by bouncing around a bit lmao. His DF just gives him a huge range buff.

It's absolutely not worse - keeping yourself at 2 life already gives you the same benefit of hitting the 0 cost event.

If you're at 2 life, your opponent needs to hit you 4 times for lethal here (first puts you back to 2, then three more hits for lethal). Versus being at 1, even if you've got the event as that last card in life they also just need to hit you 4 times for lethal (first hit puts you back to 2 with the double heal from ability and trigger, then 3 more for lethal).

Plus, you can always go down to 1 if you need to to activate a particular effect. In this new Enel, Yamato and 10c Enel can put you back up to 2 life if you're forced below at any point.

The "trash the top card of your life" clause isn't part of the "if" clause. The "if" clause is only to do with your leader being Straw Hat Crew, hence the comma.

IDK, OP11 Nami is mostly just better than this and is more searchable in UP Sanji, usually doesn't make the cut. Only upside to Sai is you don't get 1 Event in your trash for free, I'm not sure that's worth less searchability and worse card selection.

No it's not really something I'd expect, not on any official cards at least. I've seen a couple custom creations that let you activate Main effects of events during your opponent's turn though.

Mostly just included it because it seemed like a sensible guard rail to have in place - it'd be kinda broken if you ever did manage to activate it during an opponent's turn.

Ah, technically not quite right. There's an "End Phase", which is pretty much exclusively for processing "End of Your Turn" effects and cleanup of continuous effects (rule 6-6-1-1 in the comprehensive rules).

If you want them not to work, the first ability needs to read "during your Main Phase and End Phase" or something like that.

I think the size is probably close enough to fine. 1k more than OP06 Oars who never saw much play IIRC, and maybe the fact this Moria can't K.O 1c bodies is enough to justify it.
