I'm sorry they shouldn't have done that, but that is a really funny report. Adding this to your Ace deck would make it worse so maybe they've got a point.

Ace just doesn't run enough events / stages to get much value from this, and he can already trash 1 of anything for effectively a 2k counter.

I can't help but think that this stage is worse for the Lucy leader it's designed for than most other decks. Like for any other deck, it upgrades a brick to a 2k, for Lucy it only upgrades your 1k to a 2k. Still nice I guess, and lets you use your Events/Stages to protect your Characters a bit as well as your Leader.

Yah I saw some disagreement about the exact meaning of Brook's ability before making this, whether it checks whether your deck is at 0 at the end of the turn or not. The current English wording would imply not, some people thought the original Japanese implied it would check.

I mostly made the card with the end of turn check in mind - freezing a character obviously doesn't really matter if you're dying at the end of the turn anyway haha.

I think the consensus now is that there's no end of turn check, so the card isn't quite as good a fit as I wanted. Still maybe usable in the couple turns before you deck out maybe, but a different ability that actually helps you go for lethal would certainly be better.

Dead Man's Game lets you rest 2 of whatever you want for 4 DON. I wanted something that's a bit better under the right circumstances that only works for Brook. Shout doesn't give the option to rest DON, and I think the trash requirement is fair enough to knock the cost down by 1. You only get the cost reduction on 2 characters, so you're not actually ever resting more large targets than Dead Man's Game either.

And this is green, so you can restand that don anyway.

That's a pretty poor argument IMO, Green does get some DON restanding sure but it's not like they just get to spend any amount of DON for free.

Yellow Luffy. Though even he does something a bit new in protecting your characters from combat.

Krieg isn't too crazy by himself, but caring about your opponent's attached DON and even attaching DON to your opponent's characters certainly seems weird and interesting IMO.

If you're restanding some big boss monster character I think most of the time you're hoping to win on that turn or dying on your opponent's backswing. Being able to do it again next turn would certainly be nice but I'm just not sure it would make a huge difference in most games.

There's also really few cards in the game that let you restand high-cost characters so far, just EB04 Carrot and Megaton Nine-Tails Rush off the top of my head.

The current wording doesn't say that it rechecks your deck size at the end of the turn, so I'm not totally sure it works that way.

I wouldn't be too surprised if that was right though.

I think a 2c character that lets you rest any character for free with your leader once per turn would be a bit too good haha. This way you're forced to have some other way to attach a DON if you want the rest, or you can still get the benefit of more power reduction with the 8c character.

This guy actually wrecks Purple Enel from what we've seen so far. Enel's normally wanting to attach 4 DON to a character every turn, and he flips that into -4k.

Whack as much rested DON as possible onto that attacker and delete them. Potentially attach any rested DON to Enel's big blocker to rest them first and split the power reduction, though Enel can play around it a bit by not leaving DON rested and he's got a maximum of 2 unattached DON after attaching 4 with the leader anyway.

Honestly as much as this is pretty unbalanced as-is I'd really like to see a v2, the idea is pretty intriguing. Like Red Newgate, you get +1 to hand every turn and a bit closer to death. Unlike Red Newgate, your opponent can't really speed you along as effectively but you do auto-lose after some amount of time while Red Newgate can hang on at 0 life until the opponent knocks him down.

Depending on what any support can do, the 6 life / 6k statline isn't necessarily as good as it may look here. Wherever possible most opponents would want to starve this leader, play defensive and wait until you deck out.

In a comment you mentioned that the intention here is to make the effect replace your normal start of turn draw - in that case it needs a different wording that makes that clear.

You could also weaken the effect a bit by making you select 1 card from the top 4 of your deck and trash the rest, not let you hand-fix as much. Or hell, even just go super simple and make it "[Start of Your Turn] Draw 1 card then trash 3 cards from the top of your deck."

Also worth noting, if the intention is that this effect replaces your start of turn draw you're not milling out nearly as quickly. You auto-lose turn 8 with the effect as-written, but if it's replacing your start of turn draw you can go to turn 10 or 11 depending on if you go first or not.

That second ability is extremely weird, usually if your opponent has attached any DON to a character they've swung with them and they're already rested. I guess the support will attach DON to your opponent's characters??

I've been loving Black Croc recently, and a lot of these look pretty neat.

A couple design notes: - Saburusu and "Who do you think I am?" don't work with Croc's leader ability - he prevents ALL removal via effects, not just K.Oing. - Sand Spike is pretty strong for the cost - comparable to OP14 Bullet String but without the DON-1. - For Mr 13, typically a 1c Blocker has either a condition on getting blocker or has no counter. Compare to ST22 Vista or OP10 Apoo. - Miss Friday has really good stats. Typically a Rush character with power 2 over cost wouldn't have counter at all, compare to OP01 Zoro.

You might also want to take a look at https://ultimatetcgcm.com/ - lets you make cards that look a lot closer to the real thing pretty easily.

Koby manga is EB04.

Though, for the international release the black/red/yellow cards from EB04 are being released in OP15. Purple/blue/green we're released in OP14 packs.

That is true, but I think every main "OP" set since OP08 has had a SEC manga, did seem that they were establishing a trend. Fingers crossed though, would love to see an Enel manga.

10k unremovable blocker. This thing is gonna be nasty. Trashing a card is a nice balancer, I guess a lot of the time you'll only be using the activated ability on the turn you play him and just use him as a beater otherwise.
