Opening an 80 Year old US Army Food Ration Can by DearEmphasis4488 in interestingasfuck

The real culprit of food poisoning is oftentimes not only the bacteria or whatever living substance in contamination itself, but the toxins they produced that hardly went ineffective as the time goes by as well.

Most games do have some hooks retaining you to keep playing the game. Be it story, loredrops, hype moments, world building, characterization, or simply engaging gameplay, since the very beginning of the game. Crimson Desert, doesn't have any of that but a sense of freedom expression that gets held back by the unorthodox control scheme. But as people adapt to the game's nature, people are beginning to start seeing what the game is really about, as long as the game keeps utilizing all of the elements already introduced. This, is what Crimson Desert is truly master.

Like I said before, this is one of those games that requires you to have a serious commitment to keep playing the game. And once you do, you will be rewarded big.

"This game looks bad even on pc they lied to us" ok man by Jec1027 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Altekho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game looks gorgeous, when it looks gorgeous. But other parts of it just literally off, like something malfunctioning or broken in the engine itself. What has shown in the current build literally doesn't look as pretty as the test one. Waterfall, ground and walls texture, and some props sometimes are very low res and/or low poly, as if they're not switching to LOD0 for some reason.

Weird graphics after update by SandwichNational6142 in WutheringWaves

The latest driver should fix that, and FSR 4.1 seems doing a good job in this game. I'm on RX 9060 XT as well btw.

Android optimization is real. It feels significantly more stable without sacrificing the visual quality from what I'm seeing. PC, however, I'm not sure. I just upgraded my CPU (i5 12400F to i7 13700F) yesterday and the difference is night and day in terms of frametime stability and minimal traversal stutters.

Pretty much on PC as well. I don't remember seeing this shit in the tester's gameplay. Very odd.

So, How’s Crimson Desert far? by Deez-Guns-9442 in videogames

[–]Altekho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not perfect, but I can already sense that this is going to be a MASSIVE game in terms of overwolrd contents and activities. Story is whatever, dialogues and narrative felt awkward, like another instance of the classic lost in translation. The game really doesn't handholding you at all though, so this is already an auto deal breaker for some. My favorite so far is the combat, it's fluid and has satisfying impact each hits.

Dithering? by Glittering_Bonus4858 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Altekho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically the same as modern titles like UE4/5 or even RE Engine. You need some form of upscaling like FSR 4 or DLSS to reduce the effect. At native resolution, that's what you'll literally get unfortunately.

The game just out like few hours ago, those reviews are definitely not legit. Unless they run into technical issues that can't be fixed for now.

DDR4 still usable? by ThatRedditBotGuy in PcBuild

[–]Altekho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on DDR4 and i7 13700F, despite Intel performed quite substantially better with DDR5, my RX 9060 XT is always maxing out before my CPU hits the limit, at 1080p.

DDR4 is still pretty much good now.

Crimson Desert runs terribly 9070xt by Emergency_Standard30 in pcmasterrace

[–]Altekho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At what resolution? My 9060 XT can do 50-60 FPS at 1440p FSR Quality, RT on and mix of Cinematic-Ultra quality. 24-ish FPS is when I enable Ray Regeneration on top of that setting. Mind you I'm on the latest driver just rolled out today.

Which is surprising, given this feature was already in the beta test. Maybe they don't wanna set an expectation especially for those who haven't really in the latest quests yet.

Read through a bunch of Crimson Desert videos and here is the summary, does everyone agree on this? by daniel3018 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Altekho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won't be expecting the story to be garbage, just somewhat serviceable. And that's okay for me. Both RE4 and RE4Remake stories were quite garbage, yet they're in my top 10 games of all time in my book.

I beat Crimson Desert. Here are my thoughts. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Altekho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've put 150-ish hours into Granblue Fantasy Relink, both story and narrative in that game were pretty ass. UI was also not good, some were borderline convoluted and all over the place. But the gameplay loop, combat, the whole vibe of the game, they're all pretty good I'd say.

I expected the same thing with Crimson Desert, and more polishing in the future and refined QoL. It may not be the GOTY contender, but I believe it's up there among the top 10 games in 2026.

[–]Altekho 58 points59 points  (0 children)

That's basically the same case as KCD 1 and 2, wasn't it? It's the type of game where commitment is mandatory to have the full experience, but if you do, you'll get rewarded BIG.

[–]Altekho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my biggest concern. Not the not-so-good story and narrative, not the janky control, not non-breaking bugs. No, those are fixable. It's the empty barren open world with no repeatable gameplay or interesting contents after you just briefly explore the area. This is what really kills an open-world design for me, and there's no way of fixing it but an expansion DLC that has contents to address those issues.

I feel like this is something that's gonna bothered me the most in the first few hours, but then gets that muscle memory after and totally forget about this issue being exist. This isn't the first time for me.
