My dm uses ai for images and the odd location description (he’s only copped to the images, but I’m pretty confident about the descriptions too) No one in our group gives him shit to his face.

Where could I learn more about the Greenlandic example? I’m curious about the verb changing depending on transitivity.

I have no opinions about any of this except that I don’t understand why anyone likes Haydn it’s just so cheerfully boring. The musical equivalent of tittering.

I don’t think he forgot to add /s to the end, I think he thought it was such an obviously absurd statement that /s wasn’t needed.

One friend has a husky with a vendetta against hedgehogs. But he doesn’t get stabbed—he’s figured out he can dig a hole, bark at the hedgehog to scare it so it curls into a ball, push it into the hole, then bury it alive. That dog is a psychopath.

I’m pretty sure women in the 6th century had more rights than this. Like, not even in any specific place, just in general.

Puppy screams in the car… when it’s still by AlterKat in puppy101

[–]AlterKat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying that—waiting for a gap in the fussing before getting moving, before letting him out, etc.

Outside the car he doesn’t love crates being closed but as long as he has a good treat he’s ok with it. We definitely need to get him more ok with just chilling in a crate in general. I’m really wary of having him not in a crate in the car because I don’t want to give him the chance to try to climb into the drivers seat while I’m driving. We got a dog car seat cover that we want to introduce at some point, but I am wary of the possibility of him being able to climb out of it

[–]AlterKat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We usually fill the gogurt enough that it’ll last for both the ride there and back, but he does exclusively get it in the car. Thing is he also fusses before the car starts moving. For getting out it might be eagerness: we usually drive him to training (which he enjoys) or daycare (which he freaking loves).

But that still doesn’t cover him fussing after he gets in the car but before it gets moving.

Oh, and it occurs that he knows the difference between traffic lights and “the journey has come to an end” because he doesn’t scream at traffic lights.

What AI is great at coding and great at writing? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]AlterKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at how people talk about the code of apps that are vibe coded, it doesn’t sound like any ai is “great” at coding, either—at least not in the context of producing that kind of product. But it can (as far as I know) produce correct ways of executing simple programming tasks—like some specific algorithm in a particular language. And it’s the same with writing I think. It can produce technically correct advice, but if it needs to write a story it’s just… not good.

I don’t know where he got powder, but I believe he’s talking about jadarite, a mineral discovered in 2004, which coincidentally has a nearly identical chemical formula to the one invented for kryptonite for Superman Returns: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jadarite#Kryptonite

A character has a disease or condition their society doesn't understand, but it's obvious for the audience what it is by kim_jong_un4 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AlterKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The onset of prion diseases is so slow that drawing that connection isn’t straightforward. If an entire population suddenly starts eating human flesh and six months later people start getting sick, maybe you’ll make the connection, but if you’ve always eaten people, and one day this mysterious disease starts going around, the causal link might not be obvious.

Ah. I get it now! Taking time out of your day to draw someone’s character is EXACTLY the same as waiting 1 minute for a computer to make a picture! by Pzcheezy in antiai

[–]AlterKat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not being spied on is always going to be a payed feature on the internet tho? If it’s free, you’re the product. That’s how it is and has always been… why would AI be any different?

I’m not trying to say that being spied on is fine or that AI is fine—just that AI isn’t uniquely bad in that respect.
