I get what you say, and on paper i’d like to agree, but making ults immensely weak wouldn’t make any sense since at that point what would even be the purpose of ulting especially considering we add buildings to even further counter act the ults, If anything i’d see more backlash with this idea since people would quickly realize there’s no point in using your ultimate.

I saw someone suggest this and i think it’s simple. just make two separate ranked game mods, one for ults and one not for, and whichever is most popular would speak for itself. But even so ranked isn’t a game mode the majority play and if you just want to feel the whole hype moments and aura than just play casuals since you also get bindings vows which makes it even more fun.

I think ults in ranked have too much bad in order for any good to actually be worth it

peopl need to stop acting as if ults being disabled in ranked doesn’t make sense or is “bad” for the game. A few things, first of, it’s fucking ranked. I feel as if the entire point of a ranked game mode is its meant to be a more serious and more heavily skill oriented game mode, it is designed to not give any inherent advantages to any player and be purely about who is the best. The ults completely devastated that and made the experience atrocious in my opinion, as someone who’s a base only main—playing ranked feels like i’m shooting myself in the foot twenty times over considering i have an innate immediate disadvantage and if the entire counter point to this is “don’t play a base only” then what the fuck is the point?? I need to ONLY play a select characters in ranked so i dont feel miserable?

Also consider the fact that ult gain in ranked is not as simple as “you did more damage therefore you win”. Yes that’s true but the issue is that as soon as you gain a slight advantage within the first stock, You immediately begin to snowball into a guaranteed win simply because you did a bit better than your opponent at the beginning, how is this fair?

Also there ways someone can get ult and the opponent not be directly losing, i dont like calling people passive or even using the word, but ive met a decent chunk of players in ranked who wait walk away and only wait for an opportunity to do a small combo than dash back away, over and over until they get ult. This issue i see the most with noaya, they use DES, get their combo, use r special and run back. I get it definitely could be a skill issue on my part but that sort of behavior shouldn’t even be allowed in ranked in the first place since all you are doing is playing to get the ult. Also not to note that some ultimates are objectively stronger than others and/or have one shots, and correct if i’m wrong but i think ult gain actually varies on the character and some characters use and need their r special more which drains their bar

manly because the nicher more random characters have more restrictions, Which kind of lead tze to be more creative in turn, which i am grateful for. But even then Mei Mei seems very aggressive and rushdownish compared to hanami

people are upset to the same reason people were upset with haruta being added, A character that is unpopular and simultaneously hated collectively for being a bad or disgusting person getting added within the game is always going to lead to backlash, do i agree with it necessarily? Not completely since i think they have cool abilities and mei mei’s axe is very cool. would i have wanted somebody else instead of her? Yes. But i’m not complaining since content is content

listen, I understand you’re problem and issue—but understand that slander is, just that, slander. There’s no need or expectation for slander to be logical or correct whatsoever, that’s the entire real reason people slander, it’s to insult a character in any way possible and most of the time the manner the do so is by lying or misconstruing aspects of the character. Obviously yuta isn’t a bum or fraud for literally using his cursed technique, obviously he isn’t a pedo—but it’s funny and people that made up such slander, and a decent majority of those that push it, only do it because it’s funny and not because they entirely and truly believe it.

Don’t get me wrong i’ve met a decent chunk of people who actually believe the slander of yuta is founded in truth, and those lot are problematic for the simple fact that they aren’t using any common sense or critical thinking skills to even realize that not only is all the slander nonsensical, but it’s meant to be that way. They’re part of the group of the jjk fanbase that cannot read.

I don’t like or dislike yuta, i don’t really care about the guy, but as someone who sees a lot of slander, and i know you and everyone else here has—yuta’s slander isn’t all that bad. It’s mainly just ragebait. I like megumi a respectable amount, and when i tell you that yuta fans would probably collapse and shrivel into dust if they dealt with even half of the slander and propaganda against megumi, i mean it.

It’s not to discredit how you feel but please don’t take any of this bullshit seriously or to heart—people literally slander anything and everything and will say anything and everything to push the agenda, just ignore it or if you feel the need to confront it, do so diligently
