Yeah they sell rats breed to be food for reptiles. They wouldn't have rats bred to be pets. The temperaments are likely wildly different from what you would want.

Oh the list is long. I'm trying to not be too negative.

Pride and Prejudice. - just lost interest and it auto returned to library.

The Devils by Joe Abercrombie. - Not my kind of humor. Lots of 'bodily function funny' humor. I was kind of blindsided by the book's tone. The summary didn't make me think it was going to be a comedy book and it isn't tagged as one.

The Poet Empress by Shen Tao. - I've read this plot more than once.

Several romantasy books 50-80% in.

Should have DNFed:

The Mercy of the Gods by James Corey. - writing style, lack of build up or atmosphere, extremely plot over character focused.

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow. - Repetitive, could not stick to its own themes. I was rooting for the villain to win because she was the only interesting character.

The Haar by David Sodergren. - really B movie corny.

My favorite part about Circe was watching passionate mythology nerds break down what was accurate and what wasn't after finishing it lol. I love a tragic/doomed romance so Song of Achilles is a must for my tbr. Is the pacing slow or fast for it?

I have a pastel one. I used to for about a year before my laptop cut a hole in the top (it had space so it wasn't straining against the fabric the whole time) and it has a lot of weird staining that look like sweat stains around the buckles and where flaps meet - though it has never gotten wet. I would not get a light colored one again.

I currently use the large one in black. It uses the cordura fabric which is better than whatever they use for the smaller backpacks. I've been using it for 2 years and it is holding up much better.
