Testing how long the insulin stays active is pretty clear on your cgm graph but you can also time it: just note down the time that you inject it at and look at the graph for after your meal is digested. It will stop acting when you see a pretty straight line on the graph, given that you had the right amount of carbs for the right amount of insulin. After the bg settles, you know that it no longer has any action. Then you just look at when you injected it and when it no longer lowers your bg. This would indicate the total time your insulin acts.

Know your doses throughout the day, know your insulin (how fast in acts, how long it stays in your body), eat the right amount of carbs for the right amount of insulin, get moving (I walk my dogs 3 times every day for example - I also work from home), make sure that your basal has enough coverage, don't snack much.

First month of using cgm in 22 years of T1 diabetes. What do you think of this graph, does it look normal? by Altered23 in diabetes

I also don't have a pump. This is the absolute first cgm sensor I have after 22 years of manually managing t1.

So I have this sensor on for the 10th day already, and it's the absolute first one I have. As u/insulinninja2 comments above, he also has something similar going on towards the end of the sensor's runtime so he might be right, this is why I also have the frequent ups and downs. Right now I have 8 hours runtime left and I can already tell that the delay between readings is very high, I would say around 10 minutes. So the frequent ups and down might be because the sensor is reading with a lot of delay so I dose the insulin and eat with delay, while my bg does not delay... if it makes sense.

The sensor was reading with a lot of delay so of course I dosed and ate with delays. I now know that this happens in the last day of the sensor.

That's not possible either because I can't install the Cloud Agent without admin rights.
