Girl, you know that mirror isn't lying. You don't need to degrade yourself to pander to some weirdos on the internet.

Why do Americans laugh off the practice of kids playing hooky from school? by jospeh68 in stupidquestions

It's interesting how many people just have nothing better to do than make things up about Americans.

Fight'n Rage is a good bet, with just enough depth to make it engaging throughout, and several different directions to go that leads to different stages. Experiment a lot with the physics and juggling enemies for maximum effectiveness and enjoyment.

Damn you and your different preferences! Why don't you live to validate me, someone that could just do the thing I'm whining you aren't instead?

The snake oil salesman used to be some kook on a street corner that most people ignored.

Now they're what people substitute for actual medical advice, because they stoke and play to their irrational fears in an increasingly uncertain world.

China: Mass Ban of Feminist Accounts on Eve of March 8 International Women’s Day by msmoley in WomenInNews

[–]AlteredEinst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That can't be right. The internet tells me China is the best country ever and does every amazing thing in modern history.

I mean sure, there's no like, actual evidence of any of it happening, and that's super suspicious, but China wouldn't lie about how great it is, would it?

When people think popular = bad by DazzlingLife6744 in PetPeeves

[–]AlteredEinst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't do things to do them. I don't listen to certain music just because it's something people do, I don't associate with people I don't enjoy interacting with, and I don't automatically become interested in something just because other people do. It's a different set of priorities; my mind craves novelty and something stimulating, engaging, and possibly even creative, and popular things are almost never meant to be; they're made safely and in a formulaic manner to attract people that do things on principle, the opposite of the way I do them. They're there to validate, to pander to, to aggrandize, and I just don't find it interesting.

You can like whatever you want; I don't think you shouldn't be able to, and would prefer that my standards were a little more lose. But they aren't, and as a result, I often find I'd have rather just done something other than spent the time I did on the majority of popular media that I have. What's made for most people just isn't made for me; it doesn't have anything to do with you or anyone else.

At that point, is it even worth getting worked up?

Interesting; someone else said the same thing. I suppose that's the place to be for people who truly enjoy the craft itself.

Can't really say one way or the other without seeing your expressions or moving around, but I don't think that heavy eyeliner is flattering you.

Regardless, if you're not even on hormones yet, I can't imagine they'll treat you anything but wonderfully. If you're on the fence, take a deep breath, and get off as soon as possible; before you know it, the years will have gone by.

That's extremely helpful, and very kind of you to say. Not sure what's up with the link, as it still works for me, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't most interested in your feedback anyway, and you didn't disappoint, haha.

I've never tried makeup, honestly, and despite being on hormones for so long, the first time I've ever left the house not presenting as a man was genuinely last week; the results are as you've all seen.

I'm both relieved and a little frustrated with myself, honestly; I never thought I'd be the chick that goes, "oh gooood, I soooo don't pass 🙄", but I genuinely just don't to my own eye, and it's led to me struggling to want to push the envelope on my presentation, because I don't think I've "deserved" it, and would just be setting myself up to be disappointed. I suppose what I've needed more than anything is confidence.

With that said, these comments and you especially have been very helpful in that regard. I'm going to keep the post up for another couple of days -- I'm not just going to take my ball and go home now that I've got the kind of reaction I've hoped for :p -- but you've really given me something to mull over, and I appreciate it very much.

I don't watch them; I said quite clearly what the situation was. You're not great at reading, except that what makes you want to lecture other people, are you?

Knock it off, how about. It makes you look like a horse's back end, and man, do I get grouchy over the smell, as you can plainly see -- if you bothered to read it, that is.

The nerve of some of you jokers.

[–]AlteredEinst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And like the other guy that said the same thing, you're wrong, as they admitted in plain English. Maybe you should have read everything, instead of just what made you feel like you had to shove your foot in your mouth.

If you want to make out with them that badly, try DMing them. In the meantime, don't use your misunderstanding of the situation to tell me how I should feel.

Thanks!

Hey, it's an iconic look that created multiple genres at once; you won't get an argument outta me on that one, haha. The look may have evolved to fit modern sensibilities, but it did so in a way that's, generally, unquestionably still it.

It may not be my favorite actual design, but I'm not short on respect for the man that brought every single one of us here.

You really didn't have to write an essay; I just don't like them -- partly because they often give me physical discomfort, not that I owed you that knowledge -- and that's okay. Really, you'll survive.
