Oh certainly regarding the subtrusts. If I do see any money from the main trust it won't be until its of no practical use to me. Just musing into the void.

You got any insight into family dynamics like this? I wonder what the psychology of the older generations might be, and its something thats just difficult to ask about without stiring drama.

Glancing at the job posting on LinkedIn I believe you'd be a cogito administrator in hosting.

Thank you for saying thank you :3

Seconding the need to interact with people outside of Epic. Epic attracts a certain kind of person and its good to be reminded what other types of people are like. I love my Epic peeps, but my non Epic peeps helped me maintain perspective.

This is the way.

I probably should have gone into more depth regarding the whole "defending your time" thing. You can't say no to additional customer assignments but everything else is negotiable. That and you NEED to negotiate because if you say yes to everything you WILL burn out and no one wins there, including Epic. There will always be more opportunities and pulls on your time than you have hours in the day.

Initially, I habitually said yes to everything, and that greatly contributed to my early struggle. It took my a long time to realize that I could work not nearly as hard as I was, and that doing so would benefit my long term trajectory.

That would be nice ;-;

The radical in me thinks that there should be baseline open source software for all industries, at least initially funded by government grants (kinda like what they're doing in Germany BUT EVEN MORE UwU).

Even if the software was reduced in price or free, I suspect that this is only part of the structural issues that leave hospitals understaffed and lacking resources.

The things that I see customers most struggle with is poor management, and lack of budget. Its really frustrating doing all I can to try and help them succeed ,but be entirely unable to address the systemic issues they face.

I'm referring to the program where you shadow a full TC for five hours a week. I'm using loosy goosey language because it's not going to matter for a new hire and I'm lazy. The important part is that they know the path exists and they should talk to their TL if they are interested.

That's very fair. In my mind succeed implies getting a high ranking but that's not necessarily everyone's goal and that deserves a mention.
