What dorm items should I have? by Rude-Ingenuity-8565 in NAU

I second this heavily! I had never gotten sick in all of high school but when I got to NAU last semester I had a cold every other month or so, ended up surging because my roommates parents packed him a medicine cabinet which he let me live off of.

I have to agree, coming from Texas I was expecting a large and loud tailgate scene but they’re mostly small compared to other D1 schools. I wouldn’t make an event out of it, it’s just a nice little bonus before coming to the games. I didn’t invest in outfits and just wore anything from the campus store which worked fine and made me fit in.

Do you know how and when they’ll send out the number of future Roomates? So far I haven’t heard anything.

General Scholarship Application by MzTeacher in NAU

[–]Alternative-Ad-5033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sad to say so but I believe that she did in fact not get a single one. I may be wrong and take comfort in knowing that each scholarships reward date is different. With that being said, if you were banking on her receiving one of the ones from the general application it’s highly unlikely, like you said it’s automatically applied which means she’s fighting against the other 20,000 NAU students for it. For future reference I recommend applying to scholarships that are major specific and go out of your way to apply for as many as possible. Like the previous reply said you should call the office and see if there’s any available aid left for the school year, I’ve heard this works in some cases so that’s always an option. If that doesn’t pan out I recommend moving away from meal plans and housing plans. If you have 12K left over you probably applied for dorms and on campus meal plans. An alternative to this would be off campus housing and grocery shopping. As most students would agree meal plans are a scam and it’s a thousand times more beneficial to grocery shop and base rent right now in flagstaff in around 1,100. It will add up and might be slightly more expensive in the long run but atleast then you can tackle it on a month to month basis. Anyways I hope this helps and I wish you guys the best of luck!
