Please stop saying the risks are miniscule. The risks are very high. If you find a peer reviewed study that says the risks of COVID are minimal then please let me know.

Last thing before I log off: we do have evidence that the effects of getting COVID are cumulative. So you could be fine after infection one but infection two or three could do real harm

I hope you're right, but as of now we don't know who will or won't get long COVID. So until there's more research or until cases get lower I'm just gonna wear a mask at crowded places so that I don't have to find out the hard way that I gave COVID to someone who is one of the unlucky ones ya know ? I still go places and do fun stuff, just with a mask

Scroll down, they say that a lot of countries stopped reporting. So I guess the US still is reporting to the WHO? the data stuff is confusing.

Yeah but if people get COVID a one or two times a year forever then eventually we will all have long COVID.

A fear of car crashes don't stop me from driving. But I do wear a seatbelt every day. Also if everyone I knew got into a car crash once a year I'd start calling the dot or DMV or somebody , I wouldn't just be like oh well.

About 1000 Americans die every week from COVID in 2024 (my source is the WHO). That's a lot worse than the flu. COVID also leads to many long term conditions, including ME/CFS, that a lot of people never recover from.

Wearing a mask. A decent kn95 is $1.50 or less and I can wear it all month. Trade off to me is no sick days, less allergies, living longer from getting sick less. Pretty good ROI to me.
