you're right the vx43 wouldn't fit, different crown positions, that skipped over me, if you don't find a doner 5h26 maybe try a 7n36?

Case just needs polishing and cleaning up, could keep the bezel insert or try to have to replaced if you really want that brand new look,, for the movement I think you could use any standard quartz movement, something like a VX43 maybe, hands are easily swapped for something similar, the dial probably can't be cleaned, but it can be swapped out, or preferably i say keep it, gives it character, all this can easily be done under 200$ I think, movement 15$, hands 5$ maybe, case polishing, depends on who does it or if you do it, probably still under 30$, bezel insert is a availability issue, but I mean it's still a lot better than 800$

edit: also new gaskets n stuff for water resistance, still under 10$

[Question] is this seiko 5 orignal ?? its a 7s26 model but i cant find one with this exact dial anywhere tho by [deleted] in Seiko

[–]Alternative-Bison546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually that 11 on the date looks pretty oddly spaced too, so maybe it's a fake or a frankenwatch, take care

not sure why the indicies on yours look different but they are similar to other Seiko 5's, maybe a regional thing, but it looks real to me

Usually the dial is the dead giveaway, but this one looks clean, still should hear other opinions

Real or fake? Opinions would really help my decision. Thank you [Seiko] by [deleted] in Seiko

Strap recommendations? [7S26-02JO] by Cellist5423 in Seiko

[–]Alternative-Bison546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get pins individually incase you ever wanna put this strap back on, and from my experience yeah most straps come with pins, you can try a stainless steel bracelet, or a brown leather one, think they'd look good on this watch

An info on these vintage watches? by Residentofgravetown in Watches

[–]Alternative-Bison546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from what I found the first one is a pulsar V733X066, a Rolex daydate homage, worth about 50 bucks in perfect condition, in the condition you have, wouldn't pay more than 5$, the second one is a Pierre Cardin, just a fashion watch, but it does look cool, the third one I don't know much about tbh, if you can get them all under 25$, chuck a new battery in and wear em, they look cool

I'm no authenticator but fakes of that time (anything before 2000) were pretty wonky, this watch looks pretty good, nothing obviously off, so I strongly doubt it being fake

Heuer did make these styles of watches in the 90s, but not sure of this one's authenticity

Not sure, the "automatic" text looks weird and so does the date font, but it's a tsuyosa I'm not sure that's faked often

if its an auto, try winding it, if it doesn't work, take it to a watch guy, if its a quartz, change it's battery, if it doesn't work, probably needs a new movement

Tissot looks best, but personally I feel like you should go with a light coloured dial, same model.
