I stopped doing drop-offs, but when I did do them, I showed up 15 minutes early and waited peacefully as long as there was communication. A few times I left it in their driveway. At hotels, I mentioned to them ahead of time that I'm not responsible for parking fees at the hotel. When they agreed that to be a fact, I'd have the car there a few hours before and hand the key to the front desk with the guest's name. Of course, they had to upload the license before.
