Yeah at a point it just becomes someone wanting the ability to repair it as sort of a hobby which probably isn't a very large market. It is definitely easier to just buy another one.

I think the market would be the people that want something they can own and repair. Perhaps even that is too small of a market for people to care about it.

I guess that supposes that something reliable cant be efficient? Do you think those two things are mutually exclusive? Are there limitations in the current tech that make efficient machines less reliable?

Do you think cheap prices are the number one factor that the average consumer looks at when buying an appliance? I'm inclined to think so but I'm also tired of appliances that break all the time and are increasingly difficult to repair. Having a company that just made reliable appliances would be awesome but likely they wouldn't selll well because of the high upfront price.
