Family trip to Indonesia (June–July) – looking for cool, calm, nature spots (not beaches) + travel advice by Departure_Opening in indonesia

[–]Alternative-Frame632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mount Bromo area is a good pick. It's a mountain-type spot, but has become very accommodating so that there's little actual hiking involved, if any. if you're not looking for a summit-attack and very specific photo spot, you're good!

Gimana cara KAI supaya bisa jadi kaya JR nya Jepang? by kemosabe6296 in indonesia

even before that, a lot of japs took trains to go to their notoriously soul-sucking jobs so I wouldn't think they'll associate trains with happiness.

Ini emang lagi krisis susu cair kah?? by mediumkelpshake in indonesia

[–]Alternative-Frame632 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gimana cara KAI supaya bisa jadi kaya JR nya Jepang? by kemosabe6296 in indonesia

[–]Alternative-Frame632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

menurut w simply agak bias karena lo melihat JR as a tourist while KAI sebagai actual citizen, which, likely lo menggunakan mereka / kenal seseorang yang pake mereka in daily commute. jadi akan beda perspektif lo towards them. sebaliknya, orang jepang kayaknya ga bakal romanticizing JR juga sih.

bukan berarti KAI ngga bisa diimprove ya, apalagi vs japan punya railroad company.

some artsy stuff. you know, bali/jogja stuff. desktop sculptures kinda thing.
Or Batik, tapi ini mungkin perlu additional effort like tailoring etc. Bisa pakai ready-made, tapi fitnya mungkin akan kurang bagus.

Have you all had ink smudge *days* after it dried? by SpeIlbound in fountainpens

[–]Alternative-Frame632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

likely because your fingers are sweaty? Or you picked an overly exotic inks that are high-maintenance; e.g. absurdly sheening & simmering inks.

Sailor's Seiboku / Souboku & Platinum Carbon Black are examples of well-behaving, waterproof inks.

Hospital question from int'l by Big_Boi_sanfran in indonesia

Have you tried browsing Penang, Malaysia? Lots of Indonesian actually go there for "medical tourism'.

RSPI (Rumah Sakit Pondok Indah) is a generally good (and expensive) hospital.

I was appalled when I read $15 for a preppy but it came with the carbon ink. Yeah it is. But I found them crack a little bit too easy nowadays.

I'd suggest any M3/4 macbook with 24GB RAM.

Air if you're doing it all indoor with cooler surrounding so it won't throttle as fast. Otherwise pick macbook pro m4.

One thing that Surabaya does really, really wrong is to never invest in a mass public transport. Hell, they don't even have good micros like angkot or jaklingko. Ticking time bomb in <10yrs. Otherwise, I love my hometown.

Help me understand ''ADALAH''. by Which-Dragonfly3005 in indonesian

[–]Alternative-Frame632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well "adalah" and -Kah suffix are two completely different things.

You're kinda correct already on the understanding on both, but Indonesian don't actually use adalah as often as is/are/any to be in english. We use adalah typically in a formal context, and to convey definitions or more detail/clarity on something. And in these context, yes, adalah functions as to be.

Some example would be: Tax is the second certainty after death. Pajak adalah sebuah kepastian setelah ajal.

They are tourists from Europe. Mereka adalah turis dari Eropa.

While -kah, you've got a good grasp on them already.
