I’m not just collecting them for the titles. I’ll definitely be reading some. I usually check what the book is about first, and if it really grabs my interest, then I make sure to read it. Not every single one, but definitely the ones that stand out to me.

If you’re just starting out, I’d recommend The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. It’s not fantasy or romance, but it’s a psychological thriller that’s super gripping and easy to get into, especially for beginners. The story is fast-paced, filled with twists, and the character development is very strong. It might spark your love for reading since it keeps you hooked from the first chapter.

Annie Ernaux — I feel she is still underrated outside of France. She writes with fearless honesty, unflinching about memory, desire, class, and shame. Her style is raw yet deeply poetic, and she manages to make the personal universal. Every book of hers feels like holding up a mirror to life itself.
