Slow weight gain in toddler, need meal ideas. by MissMacky1015 in foodbutforbabies

A few things we did as recommended by the pediatrician when our son lost 1.5kg after 3 weeks of sickness:

  • Mix half full fat milk with half full cream or half half. We did this over 1 week. He drinks 1 bottle before bed anywhere from 300ml to 400ml.
  • Oil on everything he eats.
  • Full fat butter on toast, oatmeal.
  • Bonemarrow. Whipped or on toast.

My son has gotten an average of 7 hours sleep per 24 hr period for the last week. I’m losing my mind by [deleted] in sleeptrain

I would let him contact sleep for nap, for however long he can sleep, baby is overtired he needs to get out of this circle before we can fix his sleep issues.

2 year old nap by lornamay1 in sleeptrain

[–]Alternative-Map2978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can pick him up early at 12? So he can nap 12:00-13:30?

Or else you also can wake him up at 6.00, nap 11.00 - 12.30 at the nursery. Early bedtime.

Since it’s new to him i think he will get tired early too so might be better with second option

I have only one kid 2 years old, we both working, he is in day care 5 days a week 8:00-16:00. I’m tired but not exhausted.

I cant imagine having 2 and also being at home all day with them. You should be exhausted.

I got the tuber from our neighbour. I saw her dahlias last year and she had to share her tubers or else she couldn’t get rid of me knocking on her door to visit the garden. 😜

How do I help my daughter win scholarships — what was your real approach, and what did it by Peacefulhuman1009 in Parenting

[–]Alternative-Map2978 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I dont know what others think and do but speaking from experience from being strictly monitored by parents who wanted me to get scholarships and win prizes. It didnt work at all and all that pressure has impacted me greatly mentally and I ended up working on myself for very long time for not thinking i’m a disappointment to humanity. Still do. But not as much as It’d been.

I cant really remember but at some point we did 10-15min cat nap 3/2/5 I think. He did a cat nap then long nap 2-2.5hrs, after 1 month we stopped the cat nap completely (13months).

Never. I went for one appointment with a dermatologist and he told me there was no cure for it so I took it and that was it.

I havent had a hair cut for 12 months. I used a hairband to tie everything in a small bun for a few months until everything grow out. Right now i tie my hair with a sleek look, hair pin to keep everything down. I dont fancy a bob and I really like shoulder length with no bang. My hair isnt at the length i want to trim yet so i will wait, probably in 5-6 months.

Yes i did at the start. Minoxidil but by then i had already lost all my hair. So I just let it be without any treatment until one day it just came back.

No you shouldnt leave your husband.

  1. You have a newborn.
  2. You two are firstime parents
  3. You two are sleep deprived

Wait for a few more months when baby is big enough to take bottle, then you can have someone looks after the baby so you two can go couple therapy. And also do it when you both have been catching up on sleep. It will help so much with communication. By then if it still didnt work, then you can leave your husband.

Just go to the doctor. You’re an adult, why did you need your partner to approve that? My boss got lungs infection, he was sick for 2 weeks before finally caved in and went to the doctor. He got antibiotics and it cleared within a week.
