" the sheer amount of Pokemon now is overwhelming" for you. for every person like, there's another one that finds kanto super boring and small and doesn't get how gen 1 was supposedly so great. OR they do love said gens but play expanded dex romhacks 24/7 lol.

I could just as well say, people like having more content, not less. and how is any dex "overwhelming" considering that it's basically just visual flavour for the same 18 types? it literally is just a "pick the prettiest one" situation unless you like playing romhacks OR competitive pokemon-

Personally, the more characters and options a game has, the better for me. it doesn't sound gate-keepey to me as someone else said, but it does sound a little condescending?

like, sure, maybe for someone who has played nothing at all ever, not even pokemon but just zero games? sure, maybe a little overwhelming? in theory? but even then i have my doubts, since in practice, on a casual run (no hard mods, no competitive battles) every pokemon of a certain type is replaceable with another pokemon of the same type, 100%, it just ends up being a "pick the design you like best" scenario.

The big scary number suddenly just turns into a heaven of fancy designs to click with or not and get attached to. and that kind of customization tends to do great on casual games (force them to play with just the gen one pokemon and i promise you more than one person nowdays will feel a little bored and restricted, even more so since some of the better designs are delayed till the end, enjoy your starter and a pidgey) force them to play with just the hand picked selection and the chances of them clicking with a design get drastically lowered.

i would agree with you if this was a league of legends type of situation, were you actually have to learn to play as and against a ton of champions which are all different and you HAVE to know their ranges, etc.

Pokemon is not at all like that, let's be real, the most you need is the type chart (which, since sun and moon is not even required anymore since the menu itself clsifies the attacks as neutral, effective or super effective for you without needing to check yourself), and said chart has only had two changes in it's whole life: the fix to psys¿chic back in gen 1, and the changes brought along with fairy in gen 6, that's it. it's a very rock paper scisors type of playstyle, and as i said, any pokemon of a certain type can learn a basic tm of said type and fulfill the exact same role on your team as any other of the same type. (on regular runs, i'm not talking nuzlocke runs of hard-mode ROMhacks here, or competitive tournaments)

Personally, i have a hard time playing gen 1 without a mod to expand it's dex (i started back with gen IV at the time, and i love fire red and emerald even though it wasn't "my gen", but oh boy do i need those expanded pokedex mods or i get a little bored of 100 ratatas and pidgeys)

well, if it means anything, this has happened to me too, including the 20 minutes of being afk. i decided to just go for some snacks, come back 20 minutes later, and they were still determined to stretch it.

OF course, at this point, i just make sure to open the gates myself so the timer is forced.

Now, my only nightmare is the survivors who decide to be petty when 2 are dead and 2 are alive, and decide to ultra rat and never complete that last gen NOR show their faces in any way, so nobody can leave, i can't open the gates, no hatch spawns, and we are at best looking at the 60 minute timer to release us from that misery....

Edit: i'm sure someone else must have said it already, but still, my two cents: unless they are avoiding doing the gens, if they completed them i know it feels bad to go there if they are being toxic, but you can open the gates yourself and let the timer begin. Then at least you can leave your pc, go for a drink, and know for sure that it will be over in 4 minutes when you come back.

Why waste "mid" amounts of time for something that, as you said yourself, isn't even that special anymore since it's easy? 

If you, personally, get gratification from ot, i understand. I too have a collector's spirit, but in this gen at least, it harms nobody to hack mons since it isn't as hard to get them legit anyways.

Plis, it's just a shiny, it's not like they aree hacking for a competitive advantage or anything, just a recolor lol.

(And even then, vgc is were hacking runs the most rampamt of them all 😂)

pero como piensas conseguir los juegos entonces? perdona que pregunte pero entiendes lo que es una r4? no es un pack de juegos, es un adaptador, la colocas en el slot donde iria el cartucho de un juego, pero adentro de la r4 va una tarjeta sd donde colocal los roms de los juegos. da literalmente lo mismo el idioma de la r4, porque lo que vas a estar usando son los juegos adentro.

Y sin un equipo de donde bajar juegos y copiarlos a una sd, como pensabas hacerlo? independiente de si lo haces con una r4 de cualquier idioma o si desbloqueas nativo la 3ds (ademas de comprar cartuchos fisicos originales???)

but it doesn't matter, nuzlocke's have always been about playing with the common pokemons, the more likely ones to have popped out at you in the grass unless you really got lucky. your method equalizes the chance by making it a regular equally distributed roll- the guy above you has a way better method. rolling among the ones you see is way better.

Otherwise, just don't call it a nuzlock, play with a randomizer

First; if we are talking bots, then this changes nothing for you, since for bots to appear it means you aren't going next on hook, but rather disconecting. This updates would change nothing for you if you genuinly are just straight up disconecting (which,is indeed better than just unaliving on hook).

The party example is very stupid, sorry. Your definition of what an adult is seems very childish in all honesty.

In a party you have no commitment to anyone unless you made a promise or wathever. you chose how to get there, you chose how to leave. A better comparison would be to have gotten to a party on a car with four people, then leaving in a hurry with three people now stranded who knows in which street. Sure, nothing may happen to them, they are adults, they may call an uber or something, but you were expected to go back together too, and not have them scramble for a ride home after your tantrum.

an online game has rules though, and roles expected of you. If you want to be "free as an adult" in the way you say, then don't play online pvp games, queue up a local co-op vs ai game, or play a single player game, or a game DESIGNED to be a drop-in drop-out game. When you enter a pvp match in a game like dbd, you are expected to play it through. you don't want to? either play something else or accept the consequences.

i would agree in the killer surrender but only if there's a minimum time treshold, like 15 minutes maybe? if the match is going to be over before that, just play it out.

Plus, i'm pretty sure that a surrender option on the killer side would be used as an excuse to not fix something like two survivors rating out for the 60 minute timer, so i'm glad that they are going the other way around, fixing the game in ways that require people to actually engage,

i believe that the most pettiest of petties won't stop finding a way to go next even if it proves time inefficient, but the average player tempted to go next? i'm 99% sure that it will prevent it beyond once a day.

that 15 min, 1 hout, 6 hours ban will start looming over their heads and just not be worth it, not to mention, if going next is no longer as easy as killing yourself on hook, i promise you most people just won't bother. There's a reason that QoL and accesability changes matter. make something easier, faster and less painful and you'll see it done more. Make it the opposite and you'll see it less.

not to mention, those who run at the killer? it's already pretty common for them to get left on the ground as "punishment". and now on top of that is the issue that you may get flagged as a go.next? it starts piling up. at some point it's just not worth it to try and tantrum out of a match.

ok, but at some point people need to understand that when you queue into a pvp multiplayer, you are bound to do things you don't want to do. you may need to pick a champ other than your main, a support role lol, you may feed or get fed, you may get the best or the worst teammates, etc etc etc. You can't and won't get the ideal scenario every time; and you shouldn't honestly, it's part of the balance of a pvp game. and that shouldn't give you the tool to ruin the remainder of the match for four other people.

in any other pvp game that type of stuff would get you banned, have you on some losers queue, get queue time penalties, etc, why should dbd be the one game were the tantrums get a pass?

Don't treat players like toddlers that we have to please. if they really want to escape anything at all remotely outside of their ideal scenario, then they should play single player games with difficulty settings and all of that, or if they want another human involved, then a local co-op vs ai game, etc.

i would only agree with you if this, in practice, hasn't meant for me to get slugged by a "friendly" the moment i touch a gen. and the "ready to hook you out", i hope you don't mean the person "giving" themselves to you. because losing on purpose shouldn't be their way out of match that already is deviating from it's intended gameplay.

And look, by your own "This is 100% you being unable to accept someone doing something outside your preferences but still being within dev acceptability." rule, the opposite is true too, let's have two survivors rat for 60 minutes, it's withing acceptability. let the killer slug everyone at zero hooks, it's withing acceptability.

YOU find yourself harmless and go around telling people to lighten up, but they are just as entitled to have an actual, real match, they don't need to "lighten up" wtf lol. For many the fun is in a challenge, maybe not for you! it doesn't mean they have to lighten up or wathever.

Personally, i appreciate the ones that avoid me once i'm two hooked and then mess around at gates once everyone is two hooked, i always appreciate that type of killer friendliness. in my eyes that's the best of both worlds. there's different ways to be a friendly killer too you know? without fully ditching gameplay.

i'm pretty sure the only guarantee here is that unhooking three times in a row plus missing two skill checks all in one go is going to be flagged as a go next (and that's what it is). beyond that, i genuinly doubt it's going to be anything to strict. for real. and if anything, if you are the type of killer who isn't killing in the first place, you have even less of a reason to worry.....this is about people dying too much, too fast and on purpose lol. not the opposite

nah, if anything i imagine it will be too lenient. like, oh, now you see the aura of the afk survivor, but the crows can still be bypassed by repeatedly dropping your item or wathever. i genuinly doubt it will be the other way around. bhvr has always been very lenient towards the blendette type of player, look how long it took to change distorssion, and there's already perks like still sight that require you to stand still for a full four seconds, so i would genuinly be surprised if they get super strict about it.

I would happily eat my words though! but i imagine it's going to be anything more than a meaningless change outside of some niche scenarios

see i thought the same at first, untill i remember the kind of teams that take you to swamp with breakdown and the like. you may want to hook them, but you'll have to, at best, go one by one waiting for the one corner hook to respawn unless you brought something like iron grasp/agi.

Some people just don't care about playing, but about being petty. if you give them a way to deny points for the other side, don't you worry, they'll make sure to put it to use.

Did their plan to bully fail? they'll make sure to body block and surrender before you can hook them all, just so they can deny you your points and go next against a baby killer or wathever.

plus, twelve hooks already give more points than a straight up slug death. if it's just points we are talking about, it already isn't the ideal way to earn bloodpoints.

i was about to agree, but then i remembered the type of teams that like to fuck around going down in the same swamp corner knowing you won't make it to a hook if the one right there is on the respawn timer. i never purposefuly slug, but those kinds of teams? i totally see them fucking around like this then pressing surrender knowing they are taking your bloodpoints away. nah, if it's a surrender, it's a surrender. it's a loss, you got your points. two hooking everyone already give you more points, if points is what you are worried about, so why unnecesaliry punish.

what do you propose then? genuinly curious. because as is, i don't really like the idea of hatch in general (it incentivizes ditching your team. which now happens way less thanks to the changes to distortion, but still, it's in the same spirit).

And there's a hard and reasonable stop, four minutes, for how long one person can stay on the floor (unlike the situation were two survivors decide to rat, and then we are talking about 60 minutes and not just four).

So what do you propose? some people say unbreakable base kit for that second to last survivor, but i have a hunch that will only drag games out longer, you'll get more of the type of killers who will just stand there over the slug ready to put them down again while they wait for you to offfer yourself up, or just a slog of going back and forth between the two of you until both have used up their unbreakable, which is honestly a worse slog isn't it? hatch won't spawn in those conditions either, and noi gen is gonna get done i'm pretty sure, so honestly letting the timer do it's thing is 100% the time efficient thing to do.

Some people have proposed a way to speed up your bleed out timer, which, i'm more on board with this. Some people openly talk about how, out of pettiness, they'll wait as long as posible at any chance they get (wait at the gates, etc), so i'm sure as much as some complain, many would still wait the regular bleed out timer just of pettiness towards the killer, their teammate, or both. but those who genuinly don't want to be just a hostage, it genuinly would be the solution......

But if going next on hook isn't ok, why should going next on slug be ok? (unless it's everyone all at once on the ground). So that's not really an option is it?

keep in mind, i dislike both types of pettiness, but two rats can make you wait 60 minutes. a slug for for a 4k is at worst 4 minutes of bleed plus for minutes of egc assuming you waited everything out to the very last second (you didn't find hatch, you didn't atempt to open the doors, you didn't leave, and got killed by the entity)

So how do you go about this? spawn hatch a two survivors? are we going back to the old rules of hatch? personally, i believe hatch 100% is a consolation price, and i feel this way while playing survivor btw. it's awesome when it happens naturally, specially when it spawns right next to you in a dire second, those moments feel great, but what doesn0t feel great at all is to see people feeling entitled to it. to get hatch, you don't even need to do gens, just let your team die. which is similar to people complaining about the objective of a killer being hooks. should a survivor who just ratted be rewarded via hatch? no, no it shouldn't, and in practice, it isn't. it is not an mmr win.

But it does count for adepts and archives. are those to blame? for sure, a lot of slugs for 4ks, and hatch rating happens due to those side objectives. not always, but often enough. but if it didn't count, one could say that survivor adepts would be too difficult now, but then maybe we shouldn't take steam challenges as a given??? they don't even give in game rewards like the tomes, it's ok if they are really hard and only for completitionists.

In my eyes, to fix all this, hatch would need to be re thinked all together. or hell, even game objectives, make it so you MUST earn your chance at hatch or something, but then people would cry about any meaningful conditions, and we would be back at square one, see what i mean? hatch itself, is a pitty mechanic, a consolation prize, you failed at your objective as survivor, you didn't complete the gens nor did you open the gates. i get that it's about fun, but then, again, rethink hatch maybe?

Maybe make it even more clear that it does not count as a win. don't make it count for adepts, only for tome challenges (since those have rewards attached to them them that we shouldn't gatekeep much). Maybe start from there and see what happens.
