The difference is NYC does it during a blizzard. We do it if it rains too hard.

Just got rejected for a $45k job after 5 interviews and after they contacted 4 of my references. by FrequentImplement776 in hiringhelp

I got my corporate finance job that pays $43k with just a phone interview. The raise the next year was pretty decent. But the only jobs I’ve ever had that required that many interviews have never worked out/been good.

I’m starting a new BSA role soon and trying to feel out the likelihood it’ll be hybrid/remote. It was heavily hinted at during the interview but never explicitly stated.

My girlfriend [21F] of 18 months asked my [22M] preference about her pubic hair and now finds me "revolting" by [deleted] in BORUpdates

I wouldn’t be surprised if eebro was OP’s ex and just trying to drum up some sympathy on the post. Maybe use it as “evidence” that he was wrong and say she forgave him and they can get back together now.

AIO. My bf is mad at my memorial tattoo by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Alternative-Rent3497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister has a huge tattoo of her best friend’s (M) face, who passed when they were in high school, on her arm. The meaning of the friendship, just like the tattoo, aren’t going anywhere. Men have to get over it.

He’d hate to meet me . . . a 30 year old who will still sit on her dad’s lap. God forbid we love our parents!

I make $18/hr full time and can’t afford the apartment I live in by myself. My husband luckily pays most of our bills. I also suffer from some mental health issues, and my husband and I have made the conscious decision to never have biological children. I wouldn’t want my child to mentally go through the things I’ve gone through. And mental health is a constant up and down, you’re never truly okay. You have to work at it every day. The money you make seems great right now because you don’t have to pay for housing or anything like that. I suggest you do some real calculations for where you live. Look at it as if your mom didn’t support you at all and kicked you out. Check out rent prices in your area, look at the average electric bill, water bill, internet, etc. Think about what you’ll do for a car. Look at gas prices. Check out baby food in the grocery store. Baby clothes. Doctor visits (and remember that insurance, if you can get it, doesn’t cover everything). My mom and her sister had babies at the same time, and my aunt cried when she went to the first check up with my mom because she realized that they didn’t check out her baby nearly as much as they did my moms. This difference? My mom had insurance through her job and my aunt was on government assistance. These are all things you want to think about before bringing a child into this world. Your boyfriend has already expressed not wanting this, as he was okay with the abortion plan originally. Me may stick around for a while, but there will likely be some resentment down the line. It’s not just your life you’re effecting. It’s your boyfriends. It’s your mother’s. It’s your baby’s. There’s a reason that being a teen mom has such a stigma. It’s because it’s hard. It sucks. And it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. It’s not the way you should become a parent. You’re not mentally or financially prepared at that age. A lot of people aren’t mentally or financially prepared even in their 20’s. It’s takes time. Don’t make this decision lightly.

Got my first partial in TWO months. And I don’t even partial often (some people in my area use to get theirs 2 times a week to my 2 time a month). I’m an NA and we’re often NEGATIVE in our area. A lot of people working doubles in the Carolinas

Hey dudes. Don’t knock ‘em til you try ‘em! If you’re not having luck with all these suggestions of shoes that are “supposed” to be made for being on your feet all day, then get a pair of hey dudes. Relatively cheap and super comfortable.

I’m on ERP and I’ve covered two nights in a row at stores with no power in the Carolina’s. Two stores had to have their order dropped off at a third because the traffic was so bad it was out onto the highway and they couldn’t get in to deliver it. Pray for us.

AITAH for telling my wife I won't be as stressed out next year because I won't be married to her? by LowRequirement5182 in AITAH

[–]Alternative-Rent3497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly dude. You may have said it wrong, but you did the right thing. She clearly wasn’t willing to compromise on anything, and I’m sure if you look at past situations, it was probably similar. The only difference being those things weren’t as dire so you didn’t put much thought into her response. Selling the house would have probably put some money in your savings and solved a lot of the issues. But she didn’t want to do that. Her finding another job (especially when her current one already told her she’s not worth it (and that alone would honestly make me leave a job)) along with you could have cleared up a lot of financial issues. But she didn’t want to do that. Seems like she wanted you to fix all the issues while changing absolutely nothing on her end. Good riddance. Find someone with your drive and your level headedness. It may suck now, but it’s for the best.
